Newsletter

September 2015

Welcome back everyone! We hope you all had a wonderful summer. At the moment we are settling the returners and some new children in the nursery.
Dated for your Diary

Nursery/School will be closed on:
Friday 25th-Monday 28th(inclusive) – September weekend.
Monday 12th – Friday 16th October (inclusive) – October week holiday
Sign

Please remember to sign your child in and out. It is vital that we have an accurate register in the event of a fire or emergency situation.
We are taking photos of all new parents and carers for our safe collection folder. If you have a new contact that will be picking up your child this year, please bring in a photograph or bring them in and we can take a photo with our camera.
Thank you for your assistance to ensure the safety of the children. / Outdoor Clothing

We endeavour to take the children outside every day. It would be most helpful if all children have appropriate clothing and footwear to ensure that we are able to go out in all weathers. A waterproof jacket and wellington boots as well as a hat, scarf and gloves in the winter months would be ideal.
All children should have a pair of indoor shoes for nursery, preferably slip on or Velcro straps to ensure they develop independence skills.
Bikes, Scooters etc.

Bikes, scooters, dolls’ prams etc can be brought to nursery but must remain outside preferably secured to the fence.
Nursery Garden

Miss Brodie is leading a Forest Kinder garden Project and is looking for volunteers, maybe for an hour a week.
Please let a member of staff know if you are interested. / Art Work

Children’s art will be placed in their appropriate trays in the cloak room any not collected by Friday will be discarded.
Jewellery

All jewellery including pierced earrings MUST be removed BEFORE gym. This rule applies in nursery and throughout the primary school so please try to remember to remove earrings on gym days. Children can get upset when they are not allowed to participate in gym and staff are not permitted to remove earrings.
Morning Gym Monday
Afternoon GymTuesday / Curriculum

To support our staff planning, in the next few weeks we will be asking the children what they would like to learn about. If your child has a particular interest at the moment or you have a specific development point you would like us to work on with your child, please let us know.
Remember to check the planning wall to see how you can take their learning forward at home.
Story Time

The nursery would like volunteers to come and read stories to the children, Slips will be handed out for times and dates suitable / Students

We will have two students starting in nursery in September, Jamielee Hannah and Claire O’Donnell.
