Fr Clifford opened the meeting with thePrayer before the San Damiano Crucifix.

A] Minutes of Meeting held on 9 Jan 2018

No amendments were made to the previous meeting minutes. The aforementioned minutes were passed by Shobi and seconded by Ryan.

B] Parish Pastoral Issues

1) Parish Outreach Project

Updates/Concerns/Plans
Theme: ‘The Finest Gifts We Bring’
-Meeting for future projects with Grassroots advisor has been postponed
  • Option 1 : Proposal for “Kampong Night”
  • Proposed date would be close to National Day
  • Option 2 : Proposal for NCC to befriend households in identified rental flats and invite them for SMOTA FunFair
  • Option 3 : Proposal for inviting households for SMOTA FunFair followed by “Kampong Night”
-“Thank You” Dinner was conducted on 27th Jan 2018.

2) Parish - Fei Yue FSC Collaboration

Food Fest
-Monthly food distribution program
-Revolving door policy for needy families
-Operationalized by residents
-Approached NCC to adopt program to participate
-Means Testing will be conducted by the FSC
House Painting and Cleaning
-Requested for activities to be done before CNY (deemed not feasible)
-Youth can be involved with the house painting and cleaning in March
Academic Mentoring and Tutoring
-Alvin is looking for young adults and university students who can spare their time.
-Town Hall has passed motion to commence working with FSC.

-Regular support group for mothers
  • Meeting twice a month for about 7 months
  • Li Cheng will be hosting the sessions as a trained facilitator

Gardening Project @ SDSC
-Fr Esmond to discuss with SMOTA MENs Group on possibility of taking up activity.

-Team remains in contact with 6 FDWs who have remained active
-Program will continue after CNY with the 6 active FDWs
-Town Hall has passed motion to not continue project at the Town Hall level

10) General Parish Updates

Parish Lent Project for TTSH Community Fund
-Parishioners are called to fast and give the money saved to the less fortunate.
-Similar project is conducted for children in catechism.
-Town Hall has pass motion to proceed with project
