To Earn an A:
- Outstanding display of creativity in my project. My project clearly communicates my own original ideas of how I accept and respect diversity. I do everything I proposed to do plus more. My project exceeds the expectations outlined by Mrs. Kehoe.
- I can explain every choice I made and why I made it.
- Every piece of my project demonstrates neatness-letters are all the same size, no pencil marks, no scribbles, no wasted space, no errors in editing or spelling, no errors in video footage (if applicable).
- This project shows excellent effort. "I am proud of my project; it shows my best work."
To Earn a B:
- Good display of creativity in my project. My project communicates my own original ideas of how I accept and respect diversity. I do everything I proposed to do. My project slightly exceeds the expectations outlined by Mrs. Kehoe.
- I can explain almost every choice I made and why I made it.
- Almost every piece of my project demonstrates neatness, including most of the following: letters are all the same size, no pencil marks, no scribbles, no wasted space, no errors in editing or spelling, no errors in video footage (if applicable).
- This project shows good effort. "I really like my project; it shows some of my greatest work."
To Earn a C:
- Average display of creativity in my project. My project communicates ideas that show acceptance and respect for diversity. I do most of what I proposed to do. My project meets the expectations outlined by Mrs. Kehoe.
- The explanations for the choices I made and why I made them are mostly general or unclear.
- At least half of the pieces of my project demonstrates neatness, including the following: letters are all the same size, no pencil marks, no scribbles, no wasted space, no errors in editing or spelling, no errors in video footage (if applicable).
- This project shows average effort. "My project is okay; I did what I had to do."
To Earn a D:
- Below average display of creativity in my project. My project barely communicates ideas that show acceptance and respect for diversity. I did not do what I proposed to do. My project does not meet the expectations outlined by Mrs. Kehoe.
- I struggle or cannot explain the choices I made and why I made them.
- My project looks very sloppy.
- This project shows below average effort. "My project is below my abilities; I didn't really do what I needed to do."
To earn an F(50):
- My project shows no effort and does not meet any expectations outlined by Mrs. Kehoe. There is no evidence of good thinking or communication of how the choices I made show acceptance or respect for diversity.
To earn an F (0):
- I did not turn in a project.
Grading:
Your project will be graded collaboratively between you and me using the rubric outlined above. Come prepared to our meeting able to answer the following questions:
- Make a claim about the grade you feel you deserve based on the criteria set above. Defend that claim with specific evidence that you can point to on your project that proves your claim.
- How do you feel about the quality of your project?
- Neatness, effort, overall look.
- Did the project come out the way you pictured it or wrote about in your proposal? If it did not, then what do you think got in the way?
- How does your project show acceptance and respect for diversity?
- There will be additional questions asked in addition to the above 3. These will depend on individual projects.
**Partner/Group Projects: You MUST tell meBEFORE the grading session if you want to be graded separately. It is possible for students who worked together to be graded lower or higher than a partner or groupmate depending on an individual's contribution to the project.
