NO. R-227. House concurrent resolution congratulating the 2003 BellowsFallsUnionHigh School Terriers Division II football champions.

Whereas, at the 2003 Division II championship football game, the Bellows Falls Union High School Terriers’ defensive prowess was continuously on display as they prevented their opponents, the Burlington High School Seahorses, from scoring a single point, and
Whereas, the Terriers’ amazing offensive performance started in the first quarter as cocaptain Chris Dryden recovered a Burlington fumble on the Seahorses’ 27-yard line and started the series of plays and drives which resulted in the Terriers being ahead on the scoreboard 16-0 at the halftime break, and
Whereas, these examples of the Terriers’ proficiency on the gridiron were merely a prelude to an extraordinary second half of offensive fireworks as they scored 27 more points and concluded the day with a 43-0 triumph, winning a second consecutive Division II football crown, and
Whereas, in recognition of the Terriers’ honorable pursuit of the Division II title, they were presented the 2003 Southern Vermont Sportsmanship Award, and
Whereas, the team, whose rostered members consisted of Keegan Silva, Joe Leclair, Lyle Aiken, Tristian Crawford, Matt Tomberg, Jason Ryan, Louis Garcia, Kyle Thibodeau, Justin Lynch, Cody Dibernardo, Sam Atwood, Charlie Hofmann, Tom Chisamore, Gordon Jacobs, Greg Bennett, Ryan Longe, Adam Gunn, Sheldon Stocker, Russell Corliss, Marilyn Quinn, Dean Lansberry, Bryan Stickney, Billy Harmon, Jason Andre, Sam Bledsoe, Nathan Wheeler, Matt Halberg, Paul Furgat, John Steuwe, Jon Sines, Aaron Bush, Cody Parkhurst, Dan Walsh, Timmy Williams, Joel Thurston, DJ Martinez, Peter Bates, Kyle Pierce, and Chris Dryden, worked cooperatively throughout the season toward their commonly share championship goal, and they appreciated the assistance of equipment managers Pete Frink, Mark Frink, and Mark Wheeler and cameraman Joe Wheeler, and
Whereas, the Terriers received continuing support and guidance from coach Bis Bisbee and assistant coaches Bob Lockerby and Jack Cohun, now therefore be it
Resolved by the Senate and House of Representatives:
That the General Assembly congratulates the 2003 Bellows Falls Union High School Terriers Division II championship football team, and be it further
Resolved: That the Secretary of State be directed to send a copy of this resolution to Bis Bisbee at BellowsFallsUnionHigh School.
