Through a generous gift from the Greater Milwaukee Foundation presented by 2017 TEMPO Milwaukee Mentoring Award winner Dr. VickiMartin, UWM is pleased to announce a scholarship to support a female student who has contributed to her community. This scholarship will be awarded to one UWM student for the 2017-2018academic year and may be used for tuition, housing, meals, books or equipment needed for coursework. The Greater Milwaukee Foundation primarily serves the region comprised of Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington and Ozaukee counties.

Amount of Award: One$5,000 scholarship ($2,500 per semester)

Eligibility Requirements:

  1. Must be a female student with junior or senior standingat the time of application.
  1. Any major, in good academic standing, and currentlyenrolled at least half-time at UWM.
  1. Must have contributed to her community (through active service, volunteerism, mentoring, leadership, etc.)
  1. Must be a Wisconsin resident (for tuition purposes), with preference given to students from Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington or Ozaukee County.
  1. Demonstrated financial need.Completion of the 2017-2018 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by thisapplication’s due date is strongly encouraged and the results will be reviewed as a standard measure of financial need.
  1. Preference will be given to U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens.

Completed application materials will be accepted in-person, via intra-campus mail, U.S. postal system, or FAX. Reference letters from UWM faculty/staff will also be accepted via email.
