PICTURE MAKEUP DAY FOR ALL STUDENTS IS TUESDAY, OCT 11. FRESHMEN, SOPHOMORES AND JUNIORS WHO NEED TO HAVE PICTURES TAKEN NEED TO STOP BY THE OFFICE AND PICK UP AN ORDER FORM. YOU MAY REPORT TO THE AUDITORIUM ANYTIME AFTER NOON.

SENIORS NEED TO STOP BY THE OFFICE AND CHECK THE TIMES OF YOUR PICTURES.

YOU GET YOUR STUDENT ID CARD FROM HAVING YOUR PICTURE TAKEN. EVEN IF YOU DO NOT PURCHASE THEM, YOU NEED TO HAVE THE PICTURE TAKEN FOR THE YEARBOOK AND YOUR STUDENT ID.

TEACHERS ARE REMINDED IF YOU HAVE LEFT OVER PICTURES OR STUDENT ID CARDS FROM HOMEROOM, YOU MAY BRING THEM TO THE OFFICE AND WE WILL GET THEM TO THE STUDENTS.

SENIORS:

1)  SENIORS are reminded that if you have your picture taken by an outside photographer, the yearbook staff needs to have a copy by the end of October for it to be included in the yearbook. Many of the photographers will send a copy but please make sure you check to see if Mrs. Quesenberry or Mrs. Crittenden has received it.

2)  Seniors need to return your pink Parchment form ASAP. Transcripts will not be processed until those are turned in.

STUDENTS:

1)  Are you interested in leaving your mark in high school? If so, turn in a mural idea to represent your high school experience as the class of 2017, 2018, 2019, or 2020! Your idea could be selected and painted on the walls of our building! Designs dueOctober 7thto Mrs. Quesenberry.

2)  Anymore SOPHOMORE interested in working on the SOHPOMORE Homecoming Float can sign up on the signup sheet on Mrs. Trotter’s door.

3)  FRESHMEN barbeque chicken order forms and payments ARE DUE todayin homeroom.

4)  DRAMA CLUB members: If you have not already done so, please see Mrs. Bussey to pick up fundraising packets

5)  DRAMA CLUB members: Remember the stadium cleanup after the game tonight.

6)  ONE ACT CAST: If at all possible be here at 4 pm today instead of 4:30.

CLUB NEWS:

1)  FFA dues of $15 need to be paid by the next meeting, Oct. 21. Only paid members will be eligible to attend.

SPORTS:

1)  GOOD LUCK to the Varsity Football team as they take on Buffalo Gap here at the Draft tonight!!

CAREER COUNSELOR NEWS:

1)  Juniors and seniors: there are only a few spots left for the Health Care Career Connect field trip. This trip includes a tour of Augusta Health and a program at Blue Ridge Community College. Interested students should pick up a permission form in Room 25 on top of the file cabinet. See Mrs. Wangler for more information. The tour date isWed., Oct. 12th.

GIFTED AND TALENTED INFO:

1)  Attention all Math and Science Gifted and Talented Students….Please remember to sign up with Mrs. McLaughlin if you plan to participate in Mr. Ham’s STEM workshops. The next workshop is Nov. 3. We will open the workshops up to all students if we have spaces available. Thanks!

1)  Students interested in spending a day at the Governor’s School: the sign up sheets are available. Please see your counselor as soon as possible. This is for 10th and 11th graders.

COLLEGE VISITS:

All college visits are held during Cougar Return and is open for all Juniors & Seniors. This is an excellent opportunity for all interested students to ask questions and learn more about the application process, student life, courses for students and much more!! This is also an excellent way to make the great first impression on the admissions counselors of the college you are interested in applying to.

Students must request a pass from Mrs. Halterman in the Counseling Office to attend the visit. Passes are to be requested the week prior to the visit and NO passes will be issued the day of the visit.
