G4G/U12 Blitz: Well done to all the girls who took part in the National Blitz in Croke Park on Monday last. This was a great day for all involved and will live long in the memory of the players, mentors, parents/guardians and supporters. The Kilglass Gaels stars of the future played some great football and each girl got a specially commissioned medal in memory of the occasion. Once again a special word of thanks to Tom Cox (Thomas J. Cox Auctioneers) for his kind sponsorship of the new set of jerseys. The next outing for the girls if Connacht U-12 Blitz at Connacht Centre of Excellence Ballyhaunis on 12th July.

Presentation Evening: The G4G Presentation evening took place in the Clubhouse on Thursday 29th June. Thanks to Roscommon County players Meabh Holmes, Jenny Higgins, Martina Freyne and our own Natalie McHugh for attending and presenting the certificates and jerseys to the girls.

Kevin Doran as Bishop of Elphin on Saturday evening the 12th July in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Sligo 8.30 p.m. to 10.00 p.m. People of all ages welcome. Elphin Youth Ministry in conjunction with Elation Ministries and For Your Soul Productions Drama Group will lead this special vigil of prayer for our Diocese, giving thanks for the ministry of Bishop Christopher Jones over the last twenty years and praying blessing upon our Bishop Elect Kevin, on his future ministry and on the Diocese.

WEEE Ireland Collection: WEEE Ireland are having a Public Collection of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment and Waste Batteries at Community Centre Rooskey on Thursday 10th July from 2 - 5pm. Anything with a plug or a battery will be accepted.

KILGLASS/TARMONBARRY SCOUTS will be holding a Church Gate collection on SATURDAY 12th and SUNDAY 13th July to assist in setting up costs of Scouts Club. The Scouts is aimed to support young people in their physical, mental and spiritual development, that they may play constructive roles in society, with a strong focus on the outdoors and survival skills. This is a voluntary organisation. Your Support will be gratefully appreciated.

Rooskey Tidy Towns: Rooskey Residents Assoc. has commenced preparations for this year’s Tidy Towns Competition with judging taking place anytime from early June onwards. Please be vigilant in the fight against litter – all volunteers welcome. In an effort to defray cost of maintenance, flowers etc, we are asking for a donation of €10- per house which can be given to Margaret Nugent.
