About the Juror: Claire C. Carter is Curator of Contemporary Art at the Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art where she has curated exhibitions of visual art, architecture and design since 2007. Among the original exhibitions she has presented are Covert Operations: Investigating the Known Unknowns (recently on view at the San Jose Museum of Art); The Five Senses: Janet Cardiff, Olafur Eliasson, Spencer Finch, Roelof Louw, Ernesto Neto; Narrow Road to the Interior: Contemporary Japanese Artists; Architecture + Art: Héctor Zamora; MASHup: New Video Art; and At the Crossroads of American Photography: Callahan, Siskind, Sommer. She is an author of three books co-published by Radius Books and has received awards from the American Alliance of Museums, the American Institute for Graphic Arts and the Association of Art Museum Curators. Her exhibitions have received grants from the Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts, and the Graham Foundation for Advanced Studies in the Fine Arts, among others. She is currently organizing Paolo Soleri: The City is Nature, a retrospective and monograph of the artist and architect, scheduled to open at SMoCA in fall 2017.
Eligibility:All the wearable art pieces (jewelry, fiber, etc.) should be hand-made and explore the idea that, beyond the role of adornment, they can act as a visual form of art and tactile manifestation.The process can include, but is not limited to, enameling and metal fabrication. All paintings and mixed-media pieces must be original and one of a kind. The exhibition is open to all subject matter. For further questions e-mail . Entry Fee: $30 for three images. Send any additional images for $5.00 per image. Online payment through Paypal or checks only will be accepted. Submissions will not be reviewed until the entry fee has been paid.
How to Enter: Jurying will be done from the digital representations of artwork only; please do not submit any physical items for the jurying. There is a minimum of three images per artist. Any additional images can be sent for $5.00 each. Submit Jpeg files and Word Submission Form via email only to with Subject Line: “Infinite Possibility 2016.” Files should be 150dpi and no larger than 1000 pixels in the longest dimension. Title each image file with your first and last name, then the image number and the title of the piece, which should correspond to the submission form (example: BobSmith_1_Title, BobSmith_2_Title).
All Submission Forms must be typed using the Word document. Images must accurately represent the work being submitted. Tilt Gallery retains the right to reject any work that is not accurately represented by the submission.
Deadline for Submissions: All entries must be received by Sunday, May 15, 2016 at 11:59 pm MST. Notification of acceptance will be sent on June 7, 2016.
Presentation-ready work (with frame, when required) needs to arrive at the gallery no later than June30, 2016.
Awards: First Place, Second Place, and honorable mentions will be announced during the opening reception. In addition to theInfinite Possibility: Art of Tomorrowjuried exhibition, First and Second place winners’ will have work selected by Tilt Gallery to be included in our annual signature exhibition Who’s in the House at Tilt Gallery.
