Abstract

An abstract of approximately 150 words should summarise the objectives, methods, findings and conclusions of the study. It is helpful if the abstract contains sufficient information for readers to identify the relevance of the findings to their own interests and the need to consult the detail of the paper. The abstract should be indented left and right by 1.5 cm and typed in fully justified single line spacing, as shown here.

1.  Introduction

The paper may be organised under a series of numbered sections and sub-sections according to the desires of the author.

2.  Length

Papers should not normally exceed 12 pages of text including figures, references and appendices as appropriate.

3.  Typing

3.1. Paragraph text

Please type in 1½ line spacing, fully justified on A4 paper with 1-inch (25.4 mm) margins at the top, bottom, left and right. There should be a 6-point space following each paragraph. The preferred font is 10 point Arial (i.e. a sans serif font as shown here). The title of the paper should be in upper case using 12 point Arial as shown here. Add a footnote giving the reference to the conference as shown below.

References should be cited in the text by the inclusion of the author’s name(s) and dates, (e.g. Smith, 1970; Smith and Jones, 1972; Smith et al., 1974). References at the end of the paper should be listed in alphabetical order.

3.2. Headings

3.2.1.  Section headings

Section headings should be 10-point Arial Bold. Subsections should use 10-point Arial underlined. sub-sub headings should be 10-point Arial. Further sub-division should be avoided if possible. All section headings should be 1½ line spacing and should be followed by 6 point space.

4.  Figures

Include figures and tables at their locations in the text rather than at the end of the paper. Figure and Table titles should be 10 point Arial, indented left and right by 1.5 cm and typed in fully justified single line spacing. Table titles should have 6 point spacing between Title and Table. Figure titles should have 6 point spacing between Figure and Title and 12 point space below the title. The Figure and Title headings should be bold, e.g.:

5.  Deadline

Papers will be copied and will be available to those attending the conference. Please provide two electronic copies of the paper, one in Microsoft Word format (either .doc or.docx) and one in PDF file format. Please do not add page numbers to the documents.

Papers should be submitted by 11th July 2014 and sent to . Please ensure that e-mails include "UKHRV2014Paper" in the subject line.

6.  Publication

Papers will be provided in both hard copy and soft copy formats at registration. The proceedings will also be made available upon request after the conference. Submission of papers to the conference implies agreement to copy and distribute your copyright material in this way.

Refer to references in the text by author and date. Please list references without numbers and in alphabetical order with single line spacing using the following style:
