Mentoring/Shadowing Opportunities – Each student will have 12 occasions to shadow attorneys in various areas of law for half a day each. These shadow opportunities will be scheduled on Tuesday afternoons between 1-5 p.m. You will be notified by e-mail of the location of each shadow opportunity the week prior the shadow opportunity. Please RSVP to the shadow opportunity promptly, as many attorneys only take a limited number of students on a first-come, first-served basis.
Note: Since you will be notified of your shadow opportunities by e-mail,
it is critical that we have your active e-mail address. Please notify
me immediately of any changes.
Reflection Papers – You are required to prepare a short reflection paper (2 full pages) on each of your mentoring/shadow opportunities. A paper is due on the Monday following each of your shadow opportunities.
Grading -- Reading 10%
Mentoring/Shadow Opportunities 60%
Reflection Papers 30%
Attendance -- More than one week of unexcused absences per credit hour will lower your course grade. If a serious problem will keep you from class for a period of time, you must notify the instructor as soon as possible or an excused absence will not be granted. Please arrive on time; late arrivals are disruptive.
