Part 1. Verb Review. Directions: Write the best verb tense and form of the verbs given.
Every verb tense we have studied is used in this story.

Right now, you (review) for your grammar test. The test (take place) next week, but teachers usually (encourage) students too start studyingsooner rather than later. The test (create) by your grammar teachers. They (meet) last week to talk about the test and (decide) if it was a good test of your abilities in this class. They (decide) that it was. Part 3A. Adjective Clauses:

Finish each sentence using who, whom, that, which, whose, where, when. Don’t use who as an object relative pronoun – only use “whom”. If more than one answer is possible, choose only one.

Part 6. Conditional Sentences.

Read the passage about Marcie and Opal. Then, using the words in parentheses, combine each pair of sentences into one past unreal conditional sentence. Keep the same order and decide which clause begins with “if.”

Opal is Marcie’s dog. She is 15 months old. Marcie and Opal met in December, 2011, when Opal was just a little puppy. Marcie was sad at that time because her dog, Lizzie, had died a few months before. Marcie had owned Lizzie for the dog’s whole life, 14 years, and she loved her a lot. When Lizzie died, it was hard for Marcie. Her heart broke a little bit. Although she knew she wanted to get another dog, she planned to wait until she was feeling happier. However, a friend said to Marcie, “Hey! My friend’s dog had puppies! Let’s go see them – I bet they will be cute!” Marcie agreed to go because she thought that seeing puppies would make her smile. She was right. There were 10 black puppies in the litter. They were very friendly and liked to play. One of the puppies had a white marking on her chest that looked like a heart. She often walked up to Marcie and snuggled up against her. Marcie and her friend enjoyed meeting all the puppies. A few weeks later, she went back to see the puppies again and to decide if she wanted one. The puppy with the white heart fell asleep in Marcie’s lap. Marcie decided that she was going to get this puppy even though she was still sad about Lizzie. The puppy, Opal, came home with Marcie in January and has been making her happy ever since.
