Position: Seasonal Pool Manager
Dates: May, 2014 through September 2014
The Winter Club is a unique private club located in the heart of Lake Forest, Illinois. The club serves 300 families and provides a wide range of activities. In the Summer Season the club is active with a six week camp program that will have 200 day campers attend, tennis both adult and junior courts, pool, swim team and a café.
The Winter Club Seasonal Pool Manager will be responsible for the operation of the pool facility and staff of the Winter Club pool. Safety is the number one priority of this position. In addition the manager is responsible for staff hiring & training, swim team, swim instruction for camp & members and pool area cleanliness.
Pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day – 7 days a weeks. Hours vary with school schedules, camp dates and length of daylight.
Duties:
- Supervise all pool staff and ensure that swimmers are following all rules and regulations.
- Interview, hire, train, and schedule all pool staff
- Oversee Winter Club Swim Team – defined practices and coordinate meets home and away
- Develop Swim Lesson Programs for both day campers and members
- Create and promote youth and family aquatic activities that encourage club and pool use
- Create Operating Standards for Winter Club Pool that ensures that the pool area is properly staffed, maintained, kept clean and organized
- Conduct ongoing training drills for water rescue, first aid, inclement weather and other pool related scenarios
- Maintain accurate records of pool operations, i.e. chemical readings, health department reports, accident reports, member & guest sign-ins, incident reports, etc…
- Coordinate and oversee the pool towel service
- Ensure that members & guests sign-in at the pool
Qualifications:
- Certified Red Cross Life Guard Trainer
- Certified in Red Cross First Aid and CPR/EAD
- Pool management experience
- Swim team coaching experience
- Swim lesson experience – especially with children
The Seasonal Pool Manager will report to the General Manager and work closely with Camp Director and the Facilities Staff.
Salary (seasonal) commensurate with experience.
