AHOUSE RESOLUTION
TO RECOGNIZE AND HONORSPECIAL AGENT TERRY R. MOORE OF DORCHESTER COUNTY UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT,TO COMMEND HIM FOR HIS THIRTYFOUR YEARS OF DEDICATED SERVICE WITH THE FEDERAL LAW ENFORCEMENT SERVICE, AND TO WISH HIM CONTINUED SUCCESS AND FULFILLMENT IN ALL HIS FUTURE ENDEAVORS.
Whereas, the members of the South Carolina House of Representativeshave learned that Special Agent Terry R. Moore of Dorchester County will begin a welldeserved retirement after thirtyfour years of outstanding service with the federal law enforcement service, most recently with Homeland Security Investigations; and
Whereas, Terry R. Moore enlisted in the US Army Military Police Corps in 1974 and was assigned to the US Army Criminal Investigation Division (CID). He was stationed in several locations at home and abroad before leaving active duty to attend college; and
Whereas, in further preparation for his life’s work, he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with minors in sociology and psychology from Radford University in Virginia, all the while maintaining a position as a US Army Reserves CID special agent; and
Whereas, in 1985 after completion of his university education, he returned to the US Government as a special agent in the Defense Investigation Service. He was stationed in the Pentagon until transferred to the US Customs Service, Office of Investigations, Charleston, as a special agent in 1987; and
Whereas, Special Agent Moore has been assigned to various programs, including maritime law enforcement and border enforcement, childexploitation and childpornography investigations, and commercial import/export fraud investigations; and
Whereas, in recognition of his committed labors, he has twice received the Commissioner of Customs Award, in 1991 and 1998; and
Whereas, in 2002, activated in the US Army Reserves during Noble Eagle, he was assigned as the noncommissioned officer in charge of the Secured Classified Information Facility for CID Headquarters Command; and
Whereas, tasked by other federal agencies, Special Agent Moore was selected to assist in providing security for various national election campaigns, United Nations conferences, the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, and other noteworthy events; and
Whereas, the House of Representatives is grateful for the legacy of consistent commitment and excellence that Terry R. Moorehas given in his service to the people of South Carolina, as well as to citizens of the nation at large. The members take great pleasure in wishing him well as he enters retirement and trust he will find much enjoyment in the more leisurely pace of the days ahead. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:
That the members of the South Carolina House of Representatives, by this resolution, recognize and honorSpecial Agent Terry R. Moore of DorchesterCounty upon the occasion of his retirement, commend him for his thirtyfour years of dedicated service with the federal law enforcement service, and wish him continued success and fulfillment in all his future endeavors.
Be it further resolved that a copy of this resolution be provided to Terry R. Moore.
