Introduction

ToDo Finish

This is connect to the Sabbath and Manna from heaven.[A] The thesis is that the connection between these two things is that you collect i.e. work to get the blessing from Heaven for 6 days and on the seventh you do not as you are commanded to make it kadosh and keep the Sabbath. On the Sabbath you study the word of God [B]…that’s the connection.

See this documents as references as I got a new insight from going over those parashot.

Mat 4:1-4

1 Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness [C] to be tempted of the devil. 2 And when he had fasted forty days 40 and forty nights 40, he was afterward an hungred. 3 And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. 4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Questions

1.  My initial question is my motivation for writing this article, as I was not sure of the connection between bread and the word of God

2.

Good hermeneutics suggest that you find the quote that Messiah is referencing and start from there.

Here Yeshua is quoting Deu 8:3, this is obviously early in the NT way before Pauls conversion. n: Deu 8:3; see notes on Mat 4:2.

Deu 8:1-3 – these verses reference back to Exo 16 etc.

1 All the commandments which I command thee this day shall ye observe to do, that ye may live, and multiply, and go in and possess the land which YHVH sware unto your fathers. 2 And thou shalt remember all the way which YHVH thy God led thee these forty years [Exo 16:35] in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove (נִסָּהוּ nis·Sa·hu) [D] [Exo 16:4, 20] thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no. 3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of YHVH doth man live.

[A] Also the Aleph and Tav, the Alpha and Omega, the Lord of the Sabbath etc.

[B] Act 15:19-21 19 Wherefore my sentence is, that we trouble not them, which from among the Gentiles are turned to God: 20 But that we write unto them, that they abstain from pollutions of idols, and from fornication, and from things strangled, and from blood. 21 For Moses of old time hath in every city them that preach him, being read in the synagogues every sabbath day.

[C] Was not Israel lead into the wilderness by YHVH during the Exodus?

In Deu 8:4 Moshe talks about Israel being in the desert 40 years which is related to Deu 8:3 and Mat 4:4.

[D] TODO slightly different word, need to change.
