Yum Yum Yum!! So easy,so delicious, - and on this wild stormy night,

so warm and comforting too! Good with carrots and broccoli, and a

nice bottle of red wine! I almost have the urge to invite everyone

over! ..... perhaps its the wine! .... I shall definately make this

again. Regards, Gwyneth.

Hi just a note to say i brought up how to make beef casserole and your

recipe came up, as i am thee worlds worst cook, i thought i would give

it a go, it did sound awful but thought what the hell. When I

presented it to my dear husband who has sacrificed my food for many

years he asked 'has your mum made this', which is such an honour. I

was over the moon and the casserole was FANTASTIC, that good im making

it again this weekend, thanks for your recepie and if any one has read

it but hasnt tried it, you don't know what your missing!!!

Hi Mike,

Hope this is still your email regarding your recipe from 2002.

To damn right it is the best ever. I changed absolutely

nothing. Stuck to the rules though I did manage a 'nice' bottle of

plonk to drink whilst cooking away. You should start a forum about

casseroles and syrup and plonk!!!!!!

Thank you, lovely recipe and I shall definately be cooking it all over again.

Hi Mike,

My wife and I have a simple arrangement - I cook the food, she eats

it!! Only kidding, I love cooking and she doesn't mind cleaning the

house, it works for us but it means she's not that versed in the ways

of culinary experience! So, when she told me she was cooking 'The Best

Beef Casserole In The World' I was hesitant to say the least!!

I've just finished what she cooked and it really isn't an

understatement - absolutely fantastic and a real, hearty winter

warmer!!

Cheers,

James

Subject: Beef Casserole Recipe

Hi Mike

Wife dragged me shopping in Oxford Street yesterday - Boring!!!!!!!!!!

Highlight was lunch at House of Fraser and beef casserole was on the

menu. But what a disappointment, the dish was luke warm and the beef

was tough. I told the kids I could do better than this.

So, today I went and got all the ingredients, told my daughter to find

me a beef casserole recipe on the internet and she printed our yours.

What a result!!!!!!!!! I cooked the dish but used a pressure cooker to

expedite the cooking times and omitted the potatoes as I served it

with rice. It was delicious, my teenage daughter who normally hates

eating has seconds. We finished the big pot within an hour with all

having seconds.

Well done and thank you. Another string to my bow.

Happy New Year

Best Wishes

Yat

Hi Mike,

I just wanted to say thanks for your casserole recipe. I have been

using it for a couple of years now, varying it with whatever is in the

cupboards of course as this seems to be your philosophy! I am

vegetarian so have never tasted it but it always gets huge thumbs up

from my partner Mark or whoever is round for supper.

I didn't believe you about the golden syrup, Mike.

Well, I was wrong.

Best wishes, Gerry.

Dear Mike,

Thought I'd add my two-pennyworth......

We're Brits currently living in Florida so, for us, February means

casseroles (who cares that it's 70f and sunny).

Thank goodness for the internet. I had some old(ish) chuck steak in

the freezer so a quick 'google' and up pops your now (internationally)

famous recipe.

I'm on a mission to demonstrate just how good our (Brit) cooking can

be...... this is a great example.

Thanks Mike.
