PBIO 8020: Essential Skills for Graduate Students
Introduction:
This 2-credit hour course is a required course for incoming graduate students in the Dept. of Plant Biology. The course introduces graduate students to the research conducted by the Faculty and Adjunct Faculty of the Department and teaches a number of skills that are essential for a successful career in research. Non Plant Biology students can take the ‘skills part of the course as a 1-credit hour class.
All academic work must meet the standards contained in ‘A Culture of Honesty’. Students are responsible for informing themselves about those standards before performing any academic work. Students need to attend all classes and complete all assignments in order to receive an S. If you need to miss a class, please let me know ahead of time.
Use of computers:
Computers can be used for note taking in class. However, students that are caught
surfing the web, doing e-mail or other activities not related to class will be banned from using a computer during class.
