Our guest speakers will be Dan Ridley and Jay Adcock and they are asking any of those having animal callers of any kind to bring them to the dinner.

If you can provide a dish for the dinner, please contact the church office or indicate it on the signup sheet. As usual, we are asking the ladies to bring their scrumptious desserts (Please indicate on signup sheet as well.)

A Costly Rejection

Luke 13:31-35

INTRODUCTION

This passage is one of the first indications in Luke’s gospel that Jesus knows he is moving to the Passion. He realizes no one can change what he is controlling. He will not reject this call as unpleasant as it will be. Today, may God help us be sure we do not make a costly rejection.

I.  A costly rejection remembers the Time Past.

a.  Jesus remembers other times Israel rejected the voice of God.

b.  Today, can we remember some times when we rejected the voice of God?

II.  A costly rejection realizes the Time Present.

a.  Jesus morns the current decisions that are being made to reject the voice of God.

b.  Do we realize the decisions we are making for God today?

III.  A costly rejection ruins the Time Forward.

a.  Jesus knew the rejection of today would lead to ruin tomorrow.

b.  Today we must decide. Will we reject the voice of God today and ruin tomorrow or will we receive the voice of God today and rejoice!

CONCLUSION

Jerusalem was given a choice. What a costly rejection. Today, each of us must make a choice, may God help us make the right one.
