Reports to: Hospitalist Practice Manager
Supervises: None

PURPOSE: Acts as in-house liaison between Hospitalist Program and hospitals. Serves as an onsite resource for physicians. Carries out all duties while maintaining compliance and confidentiality and promoting the mission and philosophy of the organization.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·  Assists Physician Recruiter and/or recruiting firms with scheduling interviews, creating itineraries, meeting with candidates, and following-up with candidates after visit.

·  Assists the ARC Credentialing Department by obtaining information to ensure that physician credentialing files are complete and accurate.

·  Works with ARC Credentialing, Hospital Med Staff Services and doctors to get paperwork returned in a timely manner for privileges. Includes contacting references by phone, etc.

·  Communicates with new hires to schedule orientation dates, provides information about schedule, consulting physicians, acquiring badge, call rooms, etc. Sets up pager and provides an office key.

·  Assists doctors and ARC Billing Department with billing/coding questions.

·  Approves and enters timesheets for PRN weekend doctors into the time keeping system.

·  Approves and sends reimbursement forms for full-time doctors for CME, etc to the Accounting Department.

·  Prepares a monthly spreadsheet for Payroll containing doctor meeting stipends and extra shifts worked.

·  Attends Executive Committee Meetings/Department Meetings/Hospital meetings. Maintains agendas and types meeting minutes for all internal meetings.

·  Works with funeral homes to coordinate completion of death certificates.

·  Completes monthly call schedules.

·  Schedules meetings for doctors, including monthly Hospital meetings or other meetings with Administration, etc.

·  Orders office supplies.

·  Sorts all doctor mail.

·  Establishes and maintains effective communication channels with referral sources and Hospitals.

·  Acts as liaison between doctors and Administration.

·  Conducts orientation for new doctors regarding ARC and Hospital policies and procedures including required trainings.

·  Processes physician vacation requests, sick time, and scheduling to maintain and communicate accurate physician FTE status and requirements.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

●  Performs other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business or related field preferred.

Experience: Administrative experience in a healthcare setting required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

●  Knowledge of various medical insurance plans and billing practices.

●  Knowledge of procedural and diagnostic coding.

●  Proficient computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.

●  Excellent customer service skills.

●  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

●  Ability to professionally communicate and interact with all levels of staff, including physicians and external contacts.

●  Excellent interpersonal & problem solving skills.

●  Ability to work in a team environment.

●  Ability to handle competing priorities
