PART 2 PRODUCTS

2.1MANUFACTURER

  1. Seismic Sensor Manufacturer: SC100 by Honeywell,

2.2SYSTEM PERFORMANCE

  1. The safe or vault shall be monitored by Electronic Vibration Sensors such as the Honeywell SC100 or equivalent where designated. The detector shall be listed for use in UL 639 Intrusion Detection applications. The detector shall detect activity from acetylene torches, sledgehammers, repeated knocks from hammer and chisel attacks, drilling, mechanical cutting, diamond drills, hydraulic jacks and other methods of intrusion. The detector can detect vibration, the position of the door lock, and rate of temperature rise. When the sensor detects intrusion, the sensor shall provide an indication of the fault to the control panel. Each vibration sensor shall report a trouble condition if disconnected from its zone expander. The installer shall follow manufacturer’s instructions when installing and programming system equipment.
  2. The Vibration Detector shall operate using a power supply providing 12 VDC at 3 mA.
  3. The Vibration Detector shall operate within a temperature range of -40° F to 158° F.
  4. The detector shall feature up to a 16.4 foot detection radius.
  5. The detector shall trigger an alarm in the event of a rapid increase in temperature of a minimum of 6° F per minute.
  6. The detector shall trigger a faulted condition while the safe or vault door is unlocked.
  7. The detector shall feature an optional mounting plate to secure the device directly to a concrete or steel surface, such as the SC110 Mounting Plate or equivalent.
  8. The detector shall feature options to prevent the safe or vault door from opening when the seismic detector is on the night position plate. The mounting kit can also be wired to prevent system arming when the detector is on the day position plate, such as with the SC111 Movable Mounting Kit or equivalent.
  9. To promote better key management the detector shall feature optional keyhole protection with a reinforced steel lever to secure the keyhole so that it can be wired to inhibit arming of the system while the lever is in the day position. In the night position the lever shall cover the keyhole and stop intruders from inserting explosives or stolen keys in the keyhole such as with the SC112 Keyhole Protection Kit or equivalent.
  10. The detector shall facilitate regular testing using an internal or external test transmitter and shall be simple to test prior to system arming such as with the SC113 Internal Test Transmitter or SC115 External Test Transmitter.
  11. When designated, the detector shall feature an optional armored cable kit to protect the detector’s cabling, such as with the SC114 Armed Cable Kit.
  12. When required, the detector shall feature an optional wall recess mounting kit to install seismic detectors in concrete walls during construction such as the SC116 Wall Recess Mounting Kit or equivalent.
  13. When required, the detector shall feature an optional floor recess mounting kit to install seismic detectors in concrete floors during construction such as with the SC117 Floor Recess Mounting Kit or equivalent.
  14. When required, the detector shall feature an optional spacer plate to create a wider gap between keyhole and the keyhole protection kit such as with the SC118 Spacer or equivalent.

PART 3 EXECUTION

3.1EXAMINATION

  1. Examine site conditions prior to installation. Notify Architect and Owner in writing if unsuitable conditions are encountered. Do not start installation until site conditions are acceptable.

3.2INSTALLATION

  1. The Safe or Vault Intrusion detection system shall be installed and tested in accordance with manufacturer’s installation instructions.
  2. Coordinate interfaces with Owner’s representative where appropriate.
  3. Provide backboxes, connectors, supports, conduit, cable, and wire for a complete and reliable installation. Obtain Owner’s approval for exact location of all boxes, conduit, and wiring runs prior to installation.
  4. Install conduit, cable, and wire parallel and square with building lines, including raised floors areas. Do not exceed forty percent fill in conduits. Gather wires and tie to create an orderly installation.
  5. Coordinate with other trades to provide proper sequencing of installation.

3.3FIELD COMMISSIONING AND CERTIFICATION

  1. Field Commissioning: Test system as recommended by manufacturer, including the following:
  2. Conduct complete inspection and testing of equipment, including verification of operation with connected equipment.
  3. Test devices and demonstrate operational features for Owner’s representative and authorities having jurisdiction as applicable.
  4. Correct deficiencies until satisfactory results are obtained.
  5. Submit written copies of test results.

3.4TRAINING

  1. Conduct on-site system training, with the number of sessions and length of sessions as recommended by the manufacturer. Training shall include administration, provisioning, configuration, operation and diagnostics.
