“Christmas Cheer”

by Madison (2nd grade)

Every year I cheer

For a fluffy reindeer.

Every year when I see white snow

I go out and make a funny snowman with an American bow.

When I hear cheer

I look in my magenta mirror.

When I look in my rosy snow globe

I put on my pink Ariel robe.

I cheer with excited glee.

And think about my fun family.

“The Day Before Christmas”

by Alfonso (2nd grade)

Snow falls like a feather down.

I had a frown.

I had to have a warm sweater.

I wish it were better.

But I go to the North Pole

And I see Santa in the cold snow.

Then I go fast asleep.

I do not hear a peep.

Before that I’m in Flagstaff and make a cold snowball.

And even a snowman made out of a hat, snow, sticks and coal.

Now it’s Christmas Day.

I wait for my family so I lay.

Then they come and we open gifts.

I open them like a zift.

“The Winter Dog”

by Brandon (1st grade)

The dog stayed up the night

Before the Christmas light.

When it was winter

I had a splinter.

The snow

Fell down slowly and my dog and I went inside and had hot cocoa.

There was a blizzard

And I saw a lizard.

The next day was Christmas

I got my dog a squeaky bone at Toys R Us.

“Winter Cheer Fun”

by Ayleen (1st grade)

The day Santa came with the deer.

Here I have Christmas cheer.

Snow is going.

Santa left.

I slept.

I really wanted to play in the snow.

So Santa took me to the North Pole.

I was making a snow tree.

I would be a snow girl

I’m delightful.

I’ll have a picnic.

“Winter is Cold”

by Ian (1st grade)

It is winter.

It is cold.

So I get under the blanket I’ll unfold.

And I’ll go under the blanket so I don’t get cold.

When I get warm, the blanket I will fold.

There is lots of snow and the snow is ice cold.

So I go inside and drink flaming mint hot cocoa with squishy and white marshmallows.

Then I eat flaming Cup of Noodles.

Ow! I burned my tongue!

“Christmas is Nearby”

by Tyler (2nd grade)

Christmas time is near

Everybody has a Christmas cheer.

When there is snow,

I want to drink hot cocoa.

I look in the mirror and I have hot cocoa on my face.

I go outside to build a snowman, but there is not enough space.

When it is winter,

I put a tree in the center.

My mom loves having stew

When it is cool.

When it is Christmas,

My brother Alexander thinks he has the most

awesome-awesomeness!

“Wintertime”

by Logan and Reese (2nd grade)

I hear the reindeer

I fill with cheer

I hear, “Ho, ho, ho!”

And there is more snow

And there is more hot cocoa

And we have a big feast

At the least

And we have a big snowball fight

And then we go to the fiery light

I would not eat the freezing snow

And then I will need warm hot cocoa

We went to make a snowman

With a little pretty magenta bow

Then I do a cannonball in the freezing snow

Then I will go to the delightful snow

And yell, “Ho, ho, ho!”

“Santa is coming,” I say

and then I see my friend Ted

my friend Ted got hit in the head

and then I made him a comfy bed

“Santa’s Coming”

by Grace and Gisele (3rd grade)

Santa comes with his red nose reindeer

And all the kids cheer.

The big bells ring

And the kids sing.

The kids make warm cookies

And Santa says, “Oh lookie!”

Then the kids went to get hot cocoa,

But Santa says, “Oh no no.”

So I got my boot

And an owl made a hoot.

I got a little sick

And I felt a little ick.

So I went to the store

And I forgot I was poor

So I bought a tree to see

So Christmas was a bit of glee.

“Days of Winter”

by Ryland (3rd grade)

I have joy

By my brother Moy

I go with the flow

In the Christmas show

And I like the Christmas tree

A little wee.

It’s white in sight

When I’m in a flight.

When I am putting up my Christmas tree,

I see a flea!

“Winter Meltdown”

by Diego (3rd grade)

It’s December.

What a day to remember!

Snow as soft as puffy pillows,

And the trees are rustling willows

Oh the snow was very white,

And I was full of delight

But when all the freezing snow melted,

All the burning love was pelted.

“Christmas Time”

by Ian, Ryan, James and Alexander (4th grade)

It’s time for Christmas and I’m full of cheer

So I went to Petsmart to buy a reindeer.

I wrote my Christmas note and gave out my long, long list.

So for Christmas I got a Nintendo 3DS.

I put out the carrots and the cookies too.

Another thing I want is for my homework not to be due!

“Christmas List”

by Renan and Morgan (3rd grade)

I made a list.

I wanted a candy twist.

But then I did miss

A part of my X-mas list.

I went to the car.

Traveled very far.

To find a way.

To fix my day.

I worked on my list.

It made me break my wrist.

That is all guys.

We need to shop at Fry’s.

So when you hold a pencil

You better be gentle.

“Playing Football”

by Caden, Wesley, Krish (3rd grade)

I run it to the touchdown.

I almost fumbled the ball.

In football we always fall down.

In football, when we get down we fall.

In football we run around.

You have to stand strong and tall.

We have to stay in bounds.

The referee has to make the call.

We always get a first down.

We have to haul the ball

“Sick”

by Brennan and Joey (3rd grade)

It’s winter now days.

It’s well in ways.

Except I am sick

‘Cause the winter did kick.

I got my medicine,

Then the winter came in.

The medicine fell on the floor

And went out the door.

It went in a packet

With leaves and a racket.

The medicine is gone

So I saw my doctor Ron.

He told me to just go through.

I was so ready to get to spring this winter is a zoo!

“The I’d Rather Seasons”

by Brian and Elijah (3rd and 4th grade)

I’m all excited for a gleeful winter,

But it’s hard to enjoy it with an attention taker sister.

I’d rather have a joyful brother

in the scorching hot summer.

I would rather spring

into the spring.

With a giant spring than fall

Into a frosted wall in the fall.

“A Special Holiday”

by Audrey (4th grade)

Winter is here

The cold is near.

To spread the snowflakes around

Everybody is here to spread some cheer all around Christmas town.

I really would like to sit on Santa’s lap

While Mrs. Claus gives me a jolly clap.

Christmas has arrived

Good thing I’m alive.

To have my wishes come true

Nobody was sad or green or blue.

While Santa Claus gently flew

What a special holiday I knew!

“The Winter Season”

by Avery (4th grade)

I have come here to say

There was a delay.

Spring won’t be here soon.

Winter will be still.

We must now pay our heating bill.

We can drink some burning cider at noon.

A grateful month to live for

All the wintery holidays I adore,

But I still can’t wait for June.

As I look out the window

I’m drinking steamy cocoa.

Last month was fall.

We have to shop at the crowded mall.

As I look out at the moon

I listen to a holiday tune.

“A Snow Day”

by Macy (4th grade)

I put up my flaky tree.

Then I hide the golden key

Because I don’t have a chimney.

So when the magical Santa comes along

I’ll be able to sing him a Christmas song.

I start to dose and feel nappy,

But I think of the reindeer and I feel happy.

There’s a wooden chair that keeps rocking.

So then I hang up my dazzling stocking,

And then I hear someone knocking.

As I peek through the clear glass window there’s no show,

So I make my Skittle cookie dough.

“Fall”

by Deanna (4th grade)

I love fall.

It’s the best of all

Because they have sales in the mall.

And when I am happy

I get extremely sassy

About the things in the school hall

Even though it has nothing to do with fall.

It is time for a party.

I don’t want to look warty.

After I dressed up

I’m going to eat sup.

When I get there

I have to find a pear that has lots of hair.

We saw the orange trees.

We count them in threes.

We made sure there are no catastrophes.

We got to the fall festival.

It was a miracle because we got to see the awesome people.

“One Christmas”

by Dylan (4th grade)

One Christmas I was on the dock.

I went inside and saw the clock.

Then it went tickety tock.

I went to my mom

And saw pet Tom.

Then Mom said

when I was in bed,

“Merry Christmas!”

“Dinosaurs”

by Nathaniel (4th grade)

I heard something big

I thought it was a pig

But it was a giant blue dinosaur

It was going to sit but it

sat on a prickly cactus and threw a crying fit

and then it made a big roar

It kept stomping around

And it was going for the town

Then a red pterodactyl came to soar.

It made a loud squeak.

Then it grabbed something with its beak.

Then it went up, but came back for more.

It fell down

And hit a clown.

Then the clown hit an apple core.

Those dinos were friends

And they both lends

Each other a hand.

“Broncos Football”

by Connor (3rd grade)

My name is Tam.

I’m on the Broncos’ team,

And I’m number one on the Colorado’s team.

So I can throw as long as space.

My head is as big as a horse’s face.

That’s why I’m number one on the team.

But I wish I could play with all of the players,

so I guess I will always be the number one mascot on the team.

“Winter”

by Mykenzie and Renan (3rd grade)

It’s winter and I think you hear

The snow pouring very near.

With snowflakes and sleds and a bunch of thread

For scarves and mittens and a beanie for your head.

It’s fun to play in the sun

But snow is better you know.

Let’s put on our jackets and snow boots

‘Cause winter is such a big hoot.

It’s December!

It’s a good month to remember.

I hope you’ll have fun time with your family members.

Have a good winter, but now it’s time to go.

I hope you have fun in all that snow!
