Approval and deletion of ITU-T Recommendations

A. By TSB Circular 106 of 18 June 2002, it was announced that the following new and revised ITUT Recommendations were approved, in accordance with the procedures outlined in Resolution 1, Section 9, of the WTSA (Montreal, 2000):

– ITU-T Recommendation E.168 (16/05/2002): Application of E.164 numbering plan for UPT

– ITU-T Recommendation E.168.1 (16/05/2002): Assignment procedures for UPT numbers in the provisioning of the international UPT service as defined in Recommendation E.168

– ITU-T Recommendation E.169 (16/05/2002): Application of Recommendation E.164 numbering plan for universal international numbers for international telecommunications services using country codes for global services

– ITU-T Recommendation E.217 (16/05/2002): Maritime communications – Ship station identity

– ITU-T Recommendation E.360.1 (16/05/2002): QoS routing & related traffic engineering methods for IP-, ATM-, & TDM-Based multiservice networks – Framework

The conditions governing the approval of ITU-T Recommendations were met and 30Member States participating in the last meeting of Study Group 2 approved the text of these Recommendations during the Plenary session held on 16 May 2002.


B. By TSB Circular 109 of 13 June 2002, it was announced that the following ITU-T Recommendations were deleted, in accordance with the procedures outlined in ITU-T Recommendation A.8, § 8.2, of the WTSA (Montreal, 2000):

– ITU-T Recommendation X.581 (11/95): Information technology – Open Systems Interconnection – The Directory: Directory Access Protocol – Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement (PICS) proforma

– ITU-T Recommendation X.582 (11/95): Information technology – Open Systems Interconnection – The Directory: Directory System Protocol – Protocol Implementation Conformance Statement (PICS) proforma

– ITU-T Recommendation Z.120: Annex C

The conditions governing the deletion of these ITU-T Recommendations were met and 18Member States and 20 Sector Members participating in the meeting of Study Group 17 (Geneva, from 27 February to 8 March 2002) proposed to delete these ITU-T Recommendations. TenAdministrations of Member States responded to the consultation on 12 June 2002, and no objection to this deletion was received.

International network identification codes for public framerelay data networks and ATM networks numberedunder the E.164 numbering plan

China

Communication of 20.VI.2002:

In accordance with ITU-T Recommendation X.125, the Administration of China has allocated the international network identification code 86 1940 [86 (E.164 Country Code) plus 1940 (National Network Identifier)] to the network “Frame Relay Network of China Telecom” for public frame relay data networks and ATM networks numbered under the E.164 numbering plan.

Turkey

Communication of 8.VII.2002:

In accordance with ITU-T Recommendation X.125, the Administration of Turkey has allocated the international network identification code 90 860 [90 (E.164 Country Code) plus 860 (National Network Identifier)] to the network “TURPAK” for public frame relay data networks and ATM networks numbered under the E.164 numbering plan.

Chile (country code +56)

Communication of 22.IV.2002*:

The Subsecretaría de Telecomunicaciones (SUBTEL), Santiago de Chile, announces the following changes in the telephone service of Chile:

Fixed telephone service in urban areas

For calls from any country outside Chile to fixed telephones in urban localities, it will be necessary to dial:

+56 + area code + subscriber number (SN)

The subscriber number (SN) is seven digits long in the primary area of Santiago and six digits long in the other primary areas.

The length of the national (significant) number (N(S)N) may thus be eight or nine digits.
