TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT R500 for half the hall and bar; R1000 for full hall and bar
A Refundable deposit will be included on top of the cost of hiring Hall. This amount, together with the hiring fee, is to be received by the Association no later than 24 hours before the day of the function you have booked, failing which the hall will not be available to be used. The deposit will be refunded to you after your function and a 100% refund is based on the following criteria having been adhered to;
A)The rules following noise levels and closing time for the function were followed correctly;
B)The Hall must be cleared of all bottles; food; catering equipment and litter by 18h00 the day following the function, unless otherwise stated and agreed upon. The hall and surrounding facilities need to be restored to the same condition in which it was presented to you; as well as no damage to the surrounding facilities, as well as breakages.
Should these rules not have been adhered to then a portion or all of your deposit will be retained by the Association to cover the expenses of restoring the hall to the required condition. In this case the amount to be retained from your deposit in part or full is discretionary and cannot be disputed.

The use of the Bar facility / 14 x Tables – Round (1.8mx14)
Approximately 120 chairs / Tables - Rectangular tables
- No linen, crockery or cutlery is provided. There are no kitchen facilities available.
- Any breakages (including glasses) or damage to property will be for your account.
- MUSIC The Hall is within a residential area, and music must be switched right down at midnight. We also ask that noise levels on the verandas and in the car park be kept down after midnight.
- SET UP AND CLEARING OF HALL - The hall will be available for set up on the day of the function. Should there be a 1st team school cricket fixtures being played at the school on the Saturday, the Gold room will not be available until after lunch is served. Should you wish to set up the venue the evening before the function (and the hall is available) then a further set-up charge of R200 will be levied. The Hall must preferably be cleared at the end of the function. Should you wish to clear up the following day, this may be done by arrangement prior to the function.
- BAR SALES on credit are not considered final until completion of stock take the following day. An Invoice will be forwarded to you on completion of the bar stock take, and is due and payable on presentation.
- ALCOHOLNo alcohol may be brought onto the premises without prior agreement, as there is a fully stocked bar available. However we do not normally stock champagne, and therefore you are welcome to bring your own. We would be happy to purchase specifically for your function – all charges for champagne (per case) and hire of champagne glasses will be for your account. Should there be a special wine that is not available in the bar, then a corkage charge of R5 per bottle will be levied. We have some excellent estate wines available as well as the normal bottle store range. Please request wine list.
- NO SMOKINGis permitted in the Hall or the Bar. An area for smokers will be provided on the veranda.
- All candles on tables MUST be contained in suitable candle containers. No tea lights or unprotected candles permitted directly on table cloths.
- The Bar will be opened from 6.30pm until MIDNIGHT, (5 ½ Hours) should you wish to have the bar open and the barman work after this time, an additional fee will be applicable – R45 per barmanper hour thereafter. Should your function start at an earlier time, then the additional hours will be costed out as overtime accordingly.
- Please note that no one is allowed onto the sports fields or anywhere near the cricket pitch, at any stage, or beyond the perimeter of the hall, the car park and the toilet facilities.
- Guests may park in the school's car park during weekend functions. Security has guards that patrol the premises 24 hours a day.
13. The school's premises are entered by the Hirer, his guests, employees, contractors and other invitees at their sole risk. It is hereby understood that the St Henry's Marist Brothers' College, its Administrative Board, the Principal, teachers, staff, employees, contractors and agents, the Marist Brothers, and the Marist Association are not responsible in any way for damage to or loss of any personal property which the hirer or any guest, employee or agent of the hirer brings onto the school premises, including but not limited to, losses due to theft, damage, or car accident. The Hirer hereby holds the Marist Association, its successors, assigns, owners, officers, directors, employees, and agents, St. Henry's Marist Brothers' College, its Administrative Board, the Principal, teachers, staff, employees, contractors and agents, and the Marist Brothers, harmless from all claims which may be brought against them by the Hirer on the Hirer's behalf, by the Hirer's family, and the Hirer's executors, administrators, personal representatives guests, employees, contractors and other invitees, for any such injuries or claims aforesaid and Hirer for himself and on behalf or his family, executors, administrators, personal representatives and his guests, employees, contractors and other invitees does hereby indemnify the Marist Association, its successors, assigns, owners, officers, directors, employees, and agents, St. Henry's Marist Brothers' College, its Administrative Board, the Principal, teachers, staff, employees, contractors and agents, and the Marist Brothers its successors, assigns, owners, officers, directors, employees, and agents from all claims, demands, injuries, damages, actions, losses and expenses, including legal costs on an attorney and own client scale.
