CARIBBEAN CHILD RESEARCH CONFERENCE

OCTOBER 23rd – 24th, 2007

“PROMOTING CHILD RIGHTS THROUGH RESEARCH”

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in partnership with the Sir Arthur Lewis Institute of Social and Economic Studies (SALISES), UWI, the Caribbean Child Development Centre (CCDC), UWI, the Early Childhood Commission (ECC), Planning Institute of Jamaica (PIOJ), Office of the Children’s Advocate (OCA), Jamaica Coalition on the Rights of the Child (JCRC), Child Development Agency (CDA) and the Ministry of Education and Youth (MoEY) will be hosting its second research conference on children’s issues under the theme “Promoting child rights through research”.

The Caribbean Child Research Conference is a regional interdisciplinary conference covering a range of child-related themes. It aims to share research findings issues related to children, strengthen the network of researchers on children issues, and encourage research in both priority areas and in other important but neglected areas.

Co-chairs of the conference are:

All abstracts pertinent to the theme will be considered. Abstracts should not exceed 150 words, must be accompanied by a brief biography and can be sent via e-mail. E-mail submissions should be headed CALL FOR PAPERS.
