ADDENDUM #1
RFQ #3580BM – Professional Engineering Services for
MEP and HVAC Project at Umatilla Middle School
This addendum serves to answer questions and/or provide changes, clarifications, or additional information to the specifications for RFQ #3580BM. This addendum is issued as a part of the specification documents for the above described project. Any changes incorporated in this addendum shall be considered as a part of the documents and shall supersede, amend, add to, clarify, or subtract from those conditions shown in the original RFQ.
This addendum, as well as any subsequent addendums, may be obtained at the Lake County Schools Purchasing website located at http://lake.k12.fl.us; click on Bid Opportunities from the listing of Most Popular Links located on the right side of the screen, then click on the appropriate bid title for a listing of all published information. It is the responsibility of the vendor to monitor this web site for addenda and/or other information regarding this RFQ.
Please note that the opening date has not been changed. All bids are due in the Lake County Schools Procurement Department, 29529 County Road 561, Tavares, Florida 32778, by no later than 2:00 PM, local time, on Wednesday, October 10, 2012.
QUESTIONS
1. Which classrooms and how many computers will be added to each of these classrooms approximately so we can determine the significance of the impact on electrical and A/C load?
To be determined during the design phase.
2. Were the 2-100 ton McQuay air cooled packaged chiller units upgraded in capacity when the older ones were replaced a few years ago in anticipation of this renovation and need for additional cooling capacity due to code required outside air and computer equipment load?
The chillers were only sized to replace existing (like for like basically) what was in service at that time. No additional cooling capacity was considered.
3. During the walk-through, it was mentioned that there are two ERV’s on this job. Where are they located and what areas do they serve?
One EVR on the Gym and one on the newer classroom building.
4. Are the drawing documents going to available?
Scanned copies of the mechanical drawings from the original school construction (1977) have been posted to the web page. Unfortunately, due to the condition and age of the paper on which the plans are printed some of the pages are very difficult to read.
In addition to the drawings, a video of the gym sewer line has been posted. The video can be viewed with VLC Media Player software. This software can be downloaded free from the following web site:

5. In regards to the SF 330 and similar projects please define your definition of “recent” projects. Last 3, 5, or 10 years?
In the RFQ, respondents are requested to list up to five (5) recent project of similar nature. How recent would be based on each respondent’s work history.
Acknowledgement of Addendum by Vendor:
This addendum shall be completed by Vendor and returned with the submittal package. If a submittal has already been sent, this addendum must be submitted to the above address in a sealed envelope, which is marked on the outside: Addendum to RFQ #3580BM. This is to acknowledge receipt of this addendum, which will become a part of the proposal document. This addendum must be signed and returned in order for your submittal to be considered.
