Concept:

Throughout this Unit of Inquiry, the students will learn about how US societies compares to other countries and how they can affect the lives of many people.

Project:

Students will present a type of society. The students will decide whether their society will be free or under a dictatorship. The students will focus on hierarchy, laws, family structure, and employment. After which the students will create a depiction of their societies, presenting, and persuading their peers as to why one should choose to live in their society.

Students will …

·  Work and present on the topic: What it means to be fair and just.

·  Research and present how the society of the US compares to that of another country who doesn’t have a fair society and their society.

·  Create a model of their society.

·  Students will present in written form and have a model.

Typed Report/Oral:

The typed portion will need to give facts about how the society of the US compares to that of other countries and their society. The students need to explain their society in detail and what it means to be fair and just. The student will need to be able to articulately present their research to the class without reading their essay. The student’s oral presentation should display their knowledge and understanding of their research.
