SIGN- Permanent - Ordinance 1161.01
When submitting plans for a sign, the following is required:
- Three (3) sets of drawings
- Three (3) site location plans
- Fee: $125.00 deposit
- Completed Sign Application
- If applicable, Landscaping Plan for freestanding/ground signs
- If applicable, measurement of the ‘front’ of the building
- If applicable, show all existing signs, and surrounding signs
After approval, the permit fees are as follows:
- Altered in size, advertising copy, *per face..$50.00 + 3% = $51.50
- Ground Sign $150.00 + 3% = $154.50
- All new, (except permanent ground sign) $70.00 + 3% = $72.10
- Interior, Window (including electrical/neon) $25.00 + 3% = $25.75
- Temporary/Leasing/For Sale $20.00 + 3% = $20.60
- Repaired or restored, with no change in size, location, or advertising copy,No Charge
All drawings must be received by the Building Department two (2) weeks prior to the scheduled Planning & Zoning Meeting. Planning & Zoning meetings are held twice a month, on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month, beginning at 7:30 pm. Approval from ‘Homeowners Association’ is necessary, if applicable. Should approval of plans be denied, revised plans must be resubmitted (still allowing an additional 2 weeks for review).
** In order for the plans to be reviewed at the Planning & Zoning meeting, a representative MUST be present. **

~~Permits for business identification signs and ground signs are the most common types of sign permits processed through the Building Department. The size of a business identification sign is based on the lineal foot of frontage width of the store, building or business suite.
~~Any proposed business identification or ground sign must be reviewed and approved by the Planning & Zoning Commission before a permit can be issued. Bring any supporting material samples to the PZ/ABR meeting. Signs that have electrical power run to them must have the work performed by a state licensed contractor.
