SECTION A – COMPULSORY

Study the 1:50.000 EAST AFRICA (UGANDA) Bugondo map extract provided and answer the following questions;

a)i) Give the six figure grid reference of Napiongu hill top. (01 mark)

ii) State the man made feature at grid reference 310791. (01mark)

b)i) Measure and state in kilometers the distance of the loose surface road from the road junction at Grid reference 405735 westwards towards Kadungulu.

ii) Determine the height of Kanamara hill. (02 marks)

c)i) Draw a sketch map of the area south of Northing 86 and west of Easting 40, on it mark and name;

  • Headland and bay,
  • Hills
  • Any two communication routes
  • Marsh lands (10 marks)

ii) Account for the formation of the headlands and bays identified in c(i) above.

d) Giving evidence, identify the economic activities carried out in the area shown

on the map. (04 marks)
