2014-2015 Yearbooks: Yearbooks will arrive in the fall. Look for more information in September.

Curfew regulations: Many parents and community members are interested to know what the local curfew regulations are in our area. They are listed below for your information:

10.11 Ages and Hours. No minor shall loiter, idle, congregate, traverse or remain in or upon any public street or park unless accompanied by a parent or guardian or an adult delegated by the parent or guardian to accompany the minor according to the following ages and hours:

Under 12 years: 10 PM to 6 AM

12 years but less than 15 years: 12 AM to 6 AM

15 years and older: 12 AM to 6 AM

(Ord. No. 49-79 & 1, adopted 10-15-79,

Effective 10-23-79).

Counseling Comments:

Colleges have varying guidelines for admission. Some have a more rigorous process. You should be aware and apply early.

General College Admissions Guidelines:

Most Difficult: Majority of accepted students are from the top 10% of their class. ACT scores range 30-36.

Very Difficult: Majority of accepted students are from the top 25% of their class. ACT scores range 25-30.

Moderate Difficulty: Majority of accepted students are from the top half of their class. ACT scores range 20-23.

Minimum Difficulty: Some students accepted from the lower half of their class. ACT scores range 18-21.

Open Admission: All high school graduates accepted to capacity.

College Representatives: Representatives from many Michigan colleges will visit Kelloggsville in the fall. Encourage your son/daughter to come to the meetings so that he/she may learn about programs and scholarships available through the college.

Parents of Sophomores/Juniors: The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) will be given on October 28, 2015. This test is a practice test for the SAT and also the qualifying test for National Merit. It is available for sophomores and juniors. Stop in the counseling office for more information.

Class of 2016: Your admission to college will be based on your GPA and your ACT/SAT score, so if you are not happy with your ACT/SAT score, then you may take it again in the fall. You may take these tests as many times as you wish. Please talk with Mr. Morrow or Mrs. Hardy if you have questions.

Summer School opportunities: Kelloggsville High School will conduct a unique summer school program again this year. It is designed to allow students to move at their own pace while offering additional instruction in specific content areas if needed. Students can earn up to two high school semester credits if they successfully complete the program. The cost for summer school is $75technology fee per session offered. Students can choose from Language Arts, Science, Social Studies, and Math. Attendance is mandatory. Students must attend every day or they will not receive credit. Upon successful completion a $25.00 refund per class will be issued.

Summer school is June 17 – July 9 (no class on July 4). Morning (8-11 AM) and afternoon (11:30-2:30 PM) sessions are available. Students must come in on June 16 anytime between 9 - 11 AM to set up their computer program.

Breakfast and lunch will be offered for students attending summer school. If you have any questions, please contact the high school counseling office at 532-1593.

Testing out: Students have the opportunity to test out of a class. They must be able to demonstrate that they have met all the objectives of the course. Students must set up a test date with a teacher from the subject area they wish to test.
