PGA PROFESSIONALS READY FOR NEXT

Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month

PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. – With April just four months away, PGA Professionals nationwide are preparing their facilities for the second-annual PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month promotion. Last year around 3,000 PGA Professionals participated in the program giving more than 31,000 free fittings.

During PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month, participating PGA Professionals offer free 15-minute expert equipment fitting sessions and complete a “Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month Equipment Profile” for every golfer they fit. These fittings ensure that the equipment a golfer currently owns, or the new equipment they plan to purchase, is the right fit for them and their game.

During last year’s Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month, PGA Professionals, who actively took part in the program, realized an average of $2,400 in golf related merchandise sales through this promotion. On average, 39% of the consumers who were fitted purchased golf equipment after their fitting and 29% purchased other soft-goods merchandise. In addition, 40% of the free fittings conducted by PGA Professionals were with new customers.

PGA Professionals who participate in this year’s PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month are also PGA Trade-In Network authorized trade-in facilities, allowing golfers to trade-up to new, fitted golf clubs more affordably by accepting their used golf club trade-ins at fair market values based on the PGA.com Value Guide, The National Standard for Golf Club Values. After accepting the trade-ins at their fair market values, PGA Trade-In Network facilities have the option of quickly and easily liquidating these trade-ins for the same fair market value. As a result, there is zero risk involved in taking these trade-ins. PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month targets golfers of all skill levels and seeks to increase their participation, performance and enjoyment of the game, while at the same time raising the awareness, relevance and competence of PGA Professionals in the eyes of consumers as equipment technology and fitting experts.

“PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month gives PGA Professionals a platform to remind the golfing pubic how important club fitting is to the total game experience,” said PGA President Brian Whitcomb. “The promotion is a natural extension of Play Golf America and helps us achieve our mission of growing the game of golf.”

PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month is offered by The PGA of America in

partnership with Golf Digest, the PGA Trade-In Network, and the PGA.com Value Guide.

The April issue of Golf Digest will include the consumers’ PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Card which they can take to any participating PGA Professionals to be completed. PGA

Professionals participating in the program will be promoted in the May issue of Golf Digest and online at PlayGolfAmerica.com and on PGA.com/fit.

As an added incentive, every golfer who experiences a free custom fitting session and sends in a PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Card is entered for a chance to win an Ultimate Fitting Experience at the PGA Learning Center in Port St. Lucie, Fla., along with the variety of other prizes including a set of custom-fit golf clubs.

PGA Professionals can register for PGA Free Fitting & Trade-Up Month at the Play

Golf America Booth in the Member Business Center during the 2007 PGA Merchandise

Show, or online at www.pgalinks.com. All PGA members who register will earn two (2) MSR hours after completion of the program in April.
