Over 400 publications available through the BBVA Foundation online catalogue

Madrid, February 19,2016.-Over 400 titles are currently available free of charge between books, reports, outreach publications, working papers and multimedia publications on subjects ranging from health, economics and basic science to the environment and social sciences. The BBVA Foundation offers users an online publications catalogue in Spanish and English through its website or all content available without cost. The catalogue comprises over 400 titles representing 95% of the content appearing under the Fundación BBVA publishing imprint since 2005, plus a number of earlier titles from the Working Papers series launched in 2002.

Publications are classified by both series and format – books, reports, Working Papers, Resource Notes and multimedia publications – with filters by title or author, subject area or sub-area, publication year and publishing line.

Users can see inside the publication or browse the covers, which usually include reviews by reputed experts in the subject area. Most contents are available for download as PDF files while others appear in HTML or multimedia format.

The majority of titles published correspond to the Economy and Society focus area. The best known collection is BBVA Foundation Monographs, currently made up of 85 titles, and, within it, the series devoted to Master Lectures, featuring authorslike José Manuel Sánchez Ron, María Ángeles Durán Heras or Francisco Pérez García.

The online catalogue will be regularly updated as new content comes out for which the BBVA Foundation holds electronic distribution rights.

Among the most visited publications in the last twelve months were Libro de la salud del Hospital Clínic de Barcelonay la Fundación BBVA, Libro de la salud cardiovascular del Hospital Clínico San Carlos y la Fundación BBVA and Estadísticas históricas de España, siglos XIX-XX.

The BBVA Foundation recently concluded a collaboration agreement with

E-libros.net which will shortly come into force. Under its terms, the Spanish-language academic publications digitally available through the online catalogue will be distributed to over 1,100 libraries worldwide, including 113 in the United States and 70 in Spain.
