JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title:Project Worker Empowered Families

Accountable to Chief Executive Officer

Responsible to: Line Manager

Overall Objectives of the Post

You will be responsible for encouraging families to become involved and take the lead in all aspects of the Empowered Families project. You will support customers to set up and facilitate focus groups, become members of the steering group and take up volunteering and mentoring roles. You will support with the development oftraining programmes to promote social inclusion, healthy lifestyles, independence and the skills that are needed for service users to become involved. You willpromote opportunities which lead in to further education, training or employment.

You will promote the inclusion of everyone and identify ways to minimise any barriers for customers to become involved.You will act as a motivator and positive role model

  1. Main duties and responsibilities
  • To undertake a baseline skills assessment of service users
  • To consult with service users about what involvement they want in the planning, delivery and evaluation of the project.
  • To assist service users to plan and execute a training programme
  • To assist service users to access IT equipment
  • To assist service users to gain work experience in the Gingerbread Community Café.
  • To maintain regular visits to families to motivate and encourage them to be involved.
  • To assist families to achieve a better quality of life, build their self esteem and recognise their own skills.
  • To support and aid the emotional and physical well being of service users by getting them involved in various activities including healthy lifestyle.
  • To support with training opportunities for those who wish to progress and take up further education or employment opportunities.
  • To liaise with other statutory, voluntary and community agencies to build good working relationships and a network of contacts on behalf of service users.
  • To ensure that any matter giving cause for concern be bought to the attention of your line manager so that appropriate action can be taken.
  1. Administration

a)To keep up to date, factual and accurate records.

b)To provide information and statistics in respect to the monitoring of the project.

c)To prepare and present reports as & when required by the Line Manager and/or Chief Executive Officer and Management Committee.

  1. Development & Training

a)To attend and take part in staff meetings both one to one and team.

b)To attend management committee meetings when requested.

c)To attend appropriate training courses, workshops, seminars to further personal development within the organisation.

d)To use personal development to develop the job role for the benefit of the client group.

  1. Other Duties

a)To carry out other tasks and duties as may be reasonably required by the Chief Executive Officer and/or Line Manager from time to time.
