230923S07- GENERAL INSTALLATION NOTES

1. All wiring, conductors and transmission medium shall be in conduit.

2. Minimum conduit size shall be 3/4 inch.

3. Size conduit for 75% fill. eg. For each three conductors in the conduit, room for one additional one additional conductor must be provided.

4. All tubing shall be numbered and numbers shall be continued at all splices.

5. Install outside air sensor in the outside air, not in O.A. duct.

6. All anchors shall be metal. Do not use plastic anchors.

7. All EMT fittings used on conduit sizes 2 1/2" and smaller shall be compression type. No set-screw type on 2 1/2" conduit and smaller.

8. Do not use existing pipe, or ceiling wires, anchors or grid for support of any material added on this project.

9. Provide terminal blocks and wire numbers on all wires and include these numbers on the wiring diagrams. Do not use wire nuts on this project.

10. FMS control shall not disable the local building control. If motor starters have HOA (hand/off/auto) switches, connect to the auto (A) position of the switch. If motor starters have start/stop pushbuttons, parallel operation such that either the pushbuttons or the FMS can start or stop the unit. If motor starters have HA (hand/off) switches, replace it with a HOA switch.

11. Each piece of equipment or apparatus suspended from the ceiling or mounted above the floor level shall be provided with suitable structural support, pipe stand, platform or carrier in accordance with the best recognized practice of the industry. Supporting or mounting means shall be provided by each Contractor for all equipment furnished by same. Exercise extreme care that the equipment being supported does not overload structural members of building. Any modification or degradation of structural members shall have written structural engineers approval.

12. All 3 phase electric motors, (2 Hp. and larger), controlled by the FMS or interlocked to equipment controlled by the FMS shall have loss of phase and low phase voltage protection.

13. Wire and Color Code of FMS, DDC and other Control Wiring shall be as follows:

Size 18 AWG solid

Type twisted conductors

Insulation 600 volt TFFN or Equal

Available color combinations:

2 wire 5 combinations

3 wire 4 combinations

No. No. Cond. and Color Type of point Example of point type

1. 2 orange/yellow Analog Input Temperature in degree F

2. 2 brown/yellow Analog Input Rel Humidity in %

3. 2 red/yellow Digital Input Status/High/Low/Tot

4. 2 violet/yellow Transmission Bld 540 to 540

5. 2 blue/black Analog Input Pressure PSIG

6. 3 red/blue/yellow Digital Output Start/Stop (H/O/A)/SW

7. 3 orange/blue/yellow Analog Input RPM

8. 3 violet/blue/yellow Analog Input %PH/ORP/PURITY

9. 3 brown/blue/yellow Analog Output CPA/DPA

Notes:

Each and every conductor must have a durable plastic wire number.

Each wire number must identify terminal block and terminal number and be included on as built drawings.

All splices must be made on terminal blocks.
