Kids First Fund Launches the Largest
International Online Travel Auction for Kids on March 15
Circuit City joins the 2007 auction with a selection of consumer electronics
perfect for travelers
Milwaukee, Wisconsin (February 13, 2007) . . . Itching to dip your toes in the ocean at Waikiki Beach? Planning a romantic trip to Buenos Aires? Want to taste Sachertorte in Vienna? Beginning March 15, savvy travelers can spend time in great destinations while also benefiting abused children in resource poor regions of the world by participating in the International Online Travel Auction for Kids at KidsFirstAuction.com.
The Kids First Fund, a U.S.-based not-for-profit organization, along with participating airlines and hotels, will host the online auction of tickets and accommodations to destinations around the world including Europe, South America, South Africa, Asia, the Caribbean and destinations throughout the United States. This is the auction’s fourth year and it is believed to be the world’s largest online auction to benefit children.
The 2007 auction offers more international choices. Donor companies for 2007 include airlines with worldwide networks and carriers with intra-Europe routes. Bidders can also choose from accommodations at hotel chains, car rentals from leading brands, and unique experiences such as travel via car ferry. Merchandise will be added to the 2007 auction courtesy of a product donation made by Circuit City. The auction will feature a selection of consumer electronics that are perfect for travelers. Items in the Circuit City Travel Store will include a digital camera, camcorder, portable DVD player, and a MP3 player (see note A).

The auction list will continue to grow beyond its current quantity of 100 items with the addition of more tickets and hotel packages contributed by U.S. and international airlines and hotel companies during the period before the March 15 auction kick-off.
The funds from this year’s auction will be contributed to fund the construction of Latvia's first family shelter for women and children. The shelter will create a safe refuge for abused children and their mothers in the rural and very needy Latgale region of Latvia. The Kids First Fund is an all-volunteer non-profit organization with no administrative or fundraising costs. Every dollar raised will benefit children directly.
Note A: Circuit City merchandise may only be shipped to addresses in the United States.
About the Kids First Fund. The Kids First Fund helps abused and abandoned children. We protect children from abuse. We empower young adults with a positive future. We strengthen families. We build awareness of child abuse. We operate in countries where resources are very limited. Current projects provide support for children in the democratic republic of Latvia located on the Baltic Sea. The Kids First Fund supports programs to educate child welfare professionals such as police officers, judges, social workers and prosecutors on child abuse issues. Direct assistance is also provided to centers providing care for abused children.
