Please read this carefully. This is your agreement with the INDIANAPOLIS THEATRE FRINGE FESTIVAL.
DivaFest is based on artistic freedom for all artists; all genres are accepted. For example DivaFest is interested in all mediums including but not limited to drama/comedy/cabaret, tragedy/tragic comedy/monologue/one or multiple person play and more.
This is a JURIED event.
DivaFest provides an opportunity for all women playwrights, especially for emerging artists. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-in basis.
Each writer may submit one script.
Each accepted writer is GUARANTEED their show can be performed during DivaFest in March 2013
We will start accepting applications immediately with a final submission deadline of December 15, 2012.
The importance of DivaFest
Develop and present voices not often heard and showcase the work of established voices.
Help playwrights learn the processes of play production: write the play, pass jury for acceptance, work with production team, market and evaluate.
Engage new and established audiences in the art and craft of production
Bring new excitement to theatre and grow DivaFest as a centre for Indiana women playwrights.
Attract regional and national media coverage
Impact of Diva Fest :
Growth of new works, new audiences, new performing companies, new fringe festival shows. Imagine the new voices being heard – on stage in 2013.

Submission guidelines:
- Application form on website or available at IndyFringe office
- Submit one copy of completed script with your name and full address; email, phone # s VIA email to or hard copy to DivaFest, IndyFringe, PO Box 44121, Indianapolis, In. 46244.
- Submit an abstract of the play and add why this play is important for production now.
- Submit script history.
- Playwright short biography relating to theatre in general, playwrighting and production history.
- Submissions due at IndyFringe
Full script 45-60 minutes length electronically via email, attachment or hard copy
DEADLINE December 15, 2012.
Scripts will be read in order they are received and if accepted, performance and rehearsal dates allocated in the order they are received.
Parameters:
Maximum l hour – minimum 45 minutes dramatic work.
Comedy/ cabaret, tragedy; /tragic comedy/monologue/ one or multiple person play.
Premiere or with previous performance history.
Single Set.
Half-hour turn around for tear down and set up between performances.
Playwright provides a fully rehearsed production ready for public presentation.
DivaFest Provides:
Tech support, house manager, ushers, box office, general marketing, a space for workshopping and/or rehearsing the script.
Judging :
Entries will be judged by an independent panel.
No correspondence will be entered into.
Scripts will not be returned unless a stamped addressed envelope is provided.
Performances will take place at The IndyFringe Theatre, 719E St Clair Street unless otherwise notification.
