Student Alumni Association

Organization Information

Mission Statement: The Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology Student Alumni Association, SAA, was founded under the direction of the Rose-Hulman Alumni Advisory Board (AAB), which serves as the umbrella organization for SAA. SAA was founded for the purpose of assisting the AAB in fostering lasting relationships between present and future alumni. The Student Alumni Association will keep alumni in touch with campus life and work to make students aware of their potential roles as alumni.

The Student Alumni Association consists of a General Membership population and a Leadership Board population.

SAA meets regularly throughout the academic year to discuss student-alumni related programs and activities, which are categorized into the following areas:

Student/Alumni Programming: activities which foster interaction between students and Rose-Hulman alumni

-  R.O.S.I.E. Dinners

-  Homecoming

-  Ornament Decorating Party

Fundraising Activities: events that generate revenue to support the organization’s activities

-  Pick-A-Putt Sales at alumni golf outings

-  Sales of Rose-Hulman vintage apparel and Homecoming memorabilia.

The programming and activities organized by SAA provide benefits to students and alumni.

Benefits to Alumni: Alumni often share how much they enjoy the opportunity to meet and interact with students. Students provide them with a link to current campus culture and activities.

Benefits to Students: Leadership Board Members are given the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, network with alumni, work closely with the alumni office, and represent Rose-Hulman at a variety of on and off-campus functions.

SAA is also comprised of various committees, each of which focus on an area of development in the organization:

Executive Committee – President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer

Philanthropy Committee – Organize SAA’s community service involvement

Events – Organize events for Alumni and students, both on and off of campus

Recruitment & Communications – Plans and executes the recruitment of General members and Leadership Board members.
