On November 16, 2005 the Goudreau Museum of Mathematics will hold its annual Awards Dinner. We invite your organization to participate as a sponsor at this major fundraising event. Founded over 20 years ago, the Math Museum is a small not-for-profit museum located in New Hyde Park. The mission of the Museum is to encourage and promote interest in mathematics and to recognize that knowledge of mathematics is essential to understand the world in which we live.
In this increasingly complex world, it is paramount that we equip all of our young people, the future job pool, with needed skills in mathematics, as well as encourage greater numbers of Long Islanders to pursue careers in mathematics and other related fields, such as computer technology and engineering. Our future depends on our youth leading the way to an exciting world of invention, progress and discovery. Over 16,000 people from the New York metropolitan area participate annually in the Museum’s educational programs, special events, lectures and teacher training. Special Museum workshops are designed to engage youngsters in practical, concrete mathematics and to provide them with a solid foundation for later learning.
At the Awards Dinner, several persons who have made outstanding contributions to the field of mathematics education will be honored, along with one of the Museum’s valuable volunteers. The annual Awards Dinner is our major fundraiser and we are expecting 125 to 150 attendees. In appreciation for support of this event, your company (organization) will receive the public recognition and increased visibility it deserves. Depending on the option you choose, you will receive:

· Publicity in publications covering the event
· Recognition in the Museum newsletter, read by educators and community members
· Acknowledgment on the Museum’s website
