Job Purpose: The Webster County Agricultural Extension Council exists to provide effective program leadership and financial oversight for the Webster County Agricultural Extension District. The Webster County Youth Coordinator serves as a representative of the council, providing leadership, delivery, and management for many aspects of the 4-H program serving youth of Webster County.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Innovate and cast vision for dynamic 4-H youth development and ISU K-12 educational programs
· Out of school and Community 4-H Club development
· Volunteer Recruitment, Training, Development, and Support
· Establishes, organizes and facilitates networks, coalitions, and partnerships at the local, county, and area level to build program capacity
· Event Planning
· Marketing 4-H Youth Development Programs
· Effective team builder
· Serve as the liaison between Extension and the Webster County 4-H Endowment Board
· Utilize and Grow Partnerships: School, Community, Regional, State, Multistate
· Develop dynamic educational programming opportunities involving community and regional partners in STEM, Healthy Living, Communications and the Arts, Citizenship and Leadership (workshops)
· Informs and educates the public and key stakeholders on program impacts
· Monthly reporting and electronic communications with partners, volunteers, and Extension Council.
· Build and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, volunteers, partners and the public.
· Direct and Deliver Educational Programming
· Participates in professional development to meet goals.
· Other duties as determined
Required qualifications:
· High school graduate
· Highly motivated and results driven
· Salesmanship or advocacy skills
· Good written and oral communication skills to various audiences
· Community and educational networking and coalition building
· Good organizational skills
· Successful task management
· Energy and Enthusiasm
· Effective teaching or program delivery
· Commitment to positive youth development
· Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Internet and E-mail applications
· Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
· Pass the background screening to meet the Child Protection and Safety Policy requirements
Additional preferred qualifications:
· Coursework in education with experience in formal and/or non-formal teaching
· Evidence of excellent performance working with youth in group or classroom settings
· Experience as a member, volunteer, or employee with the 4-H Youth Development Program
· 4 year degree in a related field
Accountability
This individual will report directly to the Youth Program Specialist serving Extension Region 7 with support from multiple Iowa State University Extension and Outreach professionals across Iowa. Regular monthly reports will be made to the Webster County Extension Council.

Job Location and Work Conditions
This position is full time and will be located in the Webster County ISU Extension and Outreach Office in Fort Dodge, IA. Some programming will take place in other locations i.e. fair, camps, schools, etc. Hours will vary according to the events being planned. Based on a flexible 40 hour work week, hours could involve days, evenings, weekends, and/or overnights. Hourly wage to commensurate with experience. Initial 6 month review. A group health insurance policy is available after 60 days of employment.
