OLE Facilitator Time Commitments:

  • 1.5 hour weekly meeting with all OLE Facilitators
  • Five 3-hour OLE classes (one each week)
  • Meeting weekly for (at least) 1 hour with co-facilitator to prepare for eachclass and 1/2hour (at least) after class to debrief
  • Coaching participants on teaching topics outside of class (approx. 20 minutes per participant)
  • One-on-ones with each participant (before or after class, at least 20 minutes)
  • Help with Van Driver Training – dates TBD
  • Attendance and facilitation at skills session
  • 4-day backpacking trip on WA coast

OLE Coordinator commitments (In addition to those above)

  • 1 hour a week planning the weekly facilitator meeting with Justin
  • Organizing the logistics for facilitators – clay, maps…
  • Teaching and attendance at some class sessions
  • Leadership of weekly OLE facilitator meetings

OLE Schedule Fall 2016

Here is the information of OLE dates and times:

Participant Application out on September 7

  • Application Due - onlineWednesday September 14by midnight
  • Decisions by Friday September 16 for participants via Qualtrics Survey at:
  • Commitment & Payment of $60 fee for OLE by Tuesday September 20
    This fee covers about half of the cost of OLE. So your leader training as well as the cost of the WFA, WFR and other leader training trips are subsidized by PSO
  • 1st Week of Class...... week of September 19
  • 2nd Week of Class...... week September 26
  • 3rd Week of Class...... week of October 3
  • Skills session - Sunday October 2 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
  • Protocols and final trip preparation Sunday October 9, from 9:00am - 4:00pm
  • Van Driver training - TBD during the week of October 3 - 7
  • 4th Week of Class...... week October 10
  • Field Course...... Saturday - Tuesday October 15 - 18
  • Final Meeting and Evaluations...week of October 24
