June 2015

Dear Customer

Wells Road/ A39 at Corston

In order to install a new water main supplying the Bath Spa Student Accommodation on Wells Road, Bristol Water will need to work from the Wells Road/ Corston Drive junction to the Corston Lane junction from 13 July for four weeks. From 13 July until 20 July two way traffic lights will be in place. From 20 July the road will be closed to all traffic for three weeks. This is the second phase of this work, the first taking place last summer, and will safeguard the supply to the student block as well as improving the supply to the surrounding areas.

This work is taking place during the school holidays to minimise the impact on local residents and businesses. As well as this we will be working extended hours and weekends (7:30 until 10:30 Mon – Fri, 8:00 until 10:30 Sat and 9:00 until 10:30 Sun) to ensure the work is completed as quickly as possible.

I understand that annual county fair will be held on 18 July. Therefore we will stop work on this day and ensure that full access is available so that the fair is not affected. Also full access will be given to any vehicle needing to access the Village Hall car park whilst the resurfacing work takes place.

If you are a resident of the effected area you will still have access to your property. Please speak to any member of the site staff if you need to discuss.

The emergency services have been informed of the closure and have contact details for the engineers on site. The 752 bus will run as normal with a slight diversion through Corston. For any further questions on the bus services during this time please contact BANES Public Transport team on 01225 394041.

Staff will not need to enter your property and there should be no disruption to your water supply during the work. If you do have any issues please either speak to a member of staff on site on contact our Customer Services team on 0345 702 3797.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you and thank you in advance for your cooperation. You can keep updated on the project via our website,

Yours sincerely,

Rob Ellis
