Marsha Kauzlarich, Fast pitch: Tough season last year, won only 2 games. We’re ina vcery tough league. New facility this year (new turf, new batting cage). The scoreboard is old, bulbs are burned out, wiring is an issue. A new scoreboard would be, with installation, $14,079.51. It has been approved by the School Board. Fast pitch is asking for $3500. They have done a tremendous amount of fund raising on their own. Debbie McAllister made a motion in support of funding to Fastpitch for their $3500 request. Judy Walter 2nd, all yes, approved.
Carole Chappelle and Mai Lin Tran, Robotics: They are asking for $915 for new uniforms. Their club h as grown from 20 people last year to 40 this year. They have rebranded themselves with a new logo and need 60 new uniforms to pass down from year to year. Last year they went to Worlds in St. Louis, learning an incredible amount, lots of engineering practicalities. Debbie McAllister made a motion in support of Robotics request for approximately $950 out of the general fund. Marsha Kauzlarich 2nd, all yes, approved.
Robin Wood, Choir: There are 75 Liberty Singers, 25 in the women’s chorale group. They are wanting to attend Disney University experience, with that a 2 day hopper pass to Disneyland. They have been fund raising like crazy(singing at private parties, textiles drive) started the year with $8,000, now at $25,000, raising close to $20,000 just this year. The cost of sending the kids is approximately $675 per student. Approximately 9 students are asking for assistance with scholarships. “MANY VOICES, BUT ONE SONG.” They are asking for $3,900. Debbie McAllister made a motion that we support Choir’s request and fund their request. Judy Walter 2nd, all yes, approved.
Membership: We have 175 members right now. Will discuss at the next meeting how to get people more involved.
Ed Flash, Treasurer: Ed handed out the income statement and job profitablility summary.
Mike Smith: There is a beautiful new scoreboard, but there will be no horseshoes as there is no money left. No timeline at this time. The scoreboard cost $14,000. It definitely helped having 3 playoff football games, making approximately $7,000 in concessions.
