The meeting was called to order at 6:31 pm.

In attendance: Angie Johnson, Michele Wells, Dan Schmidt, Lynette Spence, Greg Hjelm, Janell Walters, Rob Mooers, Holly Andrekus, Rick Thompson, Diane Smith, Amy Swanson, Jen Finger

Special Guests – Janet Newberg, School Board Chair

President’s Report – Janell Walter-

⇒ Discussed the need to clarify what the PTA is in order to increase amount of volunteers, what are the best ways to recruit, voting & money handling procedures, etc

-  Holly & Janell will meet with Dan to come up with a plan of how to communicate

⇒Bear Scare – coming up on Saturday, October 29th - Amy Swanson expressed the need for volunteers, there will be a costume contest, a mile run, a 4 mile run, already 120 runners registered

⇒PTA Productions Proposal – Diane Smith spoke & said over 160 kids signed up to be in the play Peter Pan. Auditions are starting on Oct. 26th – Shannon Nicholas, Carla Albrecht & Jane Burmeister are casting directors

PTA Productions is asking for $888 to cover the cost of 20 new headsets / mic packs. The amount is being split between Lincoln, Central & the High School. This money has already been raised via Pizza Sales however formal approval is still needed. A motion was made to approve this request, Rick Thompson was first, Angie Johnson was 2nd

⇒Cameras For Teachers – 19 teachers requested cameras, card readers & memory sticks. Research is needed for exact cost & the possibility of looking at fundraising sources. Janell will look into this more

Treasurer’s Report – Angie Johnson

⇛budget – starting to get money in, we still have to pay Chip Shoppe but waiting on invoice to get final numbers

⇒Opted out of Terrorism coverage on insurance

Vice President’s Report-Holly Andrekus

⇒Fall Fundraiser wrap up – addressing feedback, plans for next year, Katie Mooers will spearhead a meeting to address options

⇒Book Fair - $2200 in sales in the first 2 days, Mrs. Pokorny purchased books for the library with leftover funds from last year’s fair (set to expire)

Volunteers needed for book fair during Lincoln Idol / BOLT Night

⇒Lincoln Idol & BOLT night set for Thursday, October 27th

⇒Upcoming Health Screening on Nov. 2nd, Anna Levins in chair

Principal’s Report-

⇒Spoke of Dr. Lovett’s announced retirement date of 6/30/16 District is forming a subcommittee to look for a replacement

⇒Janet Newberg attended in order to introduce herself. Spoke about the district adding AVID for 6th graders. Matoska is undergoing an IB review to look at success & the possibility of expanding to other schools. Any changes would not be before 2018-19 school year

⇒Request was made to create a Welcome Packet / mentorship program for new families joining Lincoln

⇒Junior achievement update, Amy Swanson offered to make passports; teachers need to add links to Schoology

Kyle Fredrickson has been to Lincoln twice already, Lisa Servatious is coming to do a project on 11/7

Discussed the possibility of a field trip to the White Bear Center for the Arts
