Re: Tabora Investment Day

Business and Investment Opportunities in Tabora, Tanzania

Dar es Salaam, Serena Hotel, 19 July 2013

We are pleased to invite you to attend a complimentary seminar jointly organised by the Tabora Region and the Tanzanian Investment Centre to promote awareness of investment opportunities in and around Tabora. The event is being organized in cooperation with the Milennium Cities Initiative, a program of the Earth Institute of Columbia University in New York.

Tanzania is increasingly regarded as a very attractive location for investment and trade and for doing business in general. Major international manufacturing and service companies have well-established operations in Tanzania, including such giants as ABB, British Petroleum, Continental, Matsushita, and Unilever. Many smaller international companies also have either invested in or have been doing business with Tanzania.

Tabora is a natural centre of western Tanzania as it is located on a major crossing of railway lines connecting the coast with the interior of Africa. It is, therefore, a centre of business and commerce, not only for Tanzania but also for adjacent countries, with an estimated market exceeding 20 million consumers. Tabora also offers a skilled and educated workforce as it is home to several educational institutions. The region is endowed with an abundance of natural resources and farming land, and a growing population in the city. It attracts new companies from Tanzania and abroad to study the investment and business opportunities it can offer.

The seminar has been designed to provide detailed information on the current situation and business opportunities in and around Tabora, as well as the experiences of companies already active in the country. Specific investment opportunities in agribusiness, agriprocessing, manufacturing, real estate, and other sectors will be presented in detail. Please visit www.InvestinTabora.com for more detailed information.

This forum intends to bring an opportunity to a potifolio of high-level international and domestic private sector investors and business communities to engage with high-level Tanzanian government delegations under the lead of H.E. Dr. Mohamed Gharib Bilal, the vice president of the United Republic of Tanzania, cabinet ministers, parliamentarians, regional commisioners, sectoral experts as well as high commissioners and ambassadors, development partners and international development agencies.

Attendance is free of charge for invited participants; however, space is limited. You are therefore advised to register and confirm in advance, using the attached form, which may be faxed or emailed to the address provided.

Please find the attached programme for further details. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mr. Brendan Maro at the Tanzania Investement Centre via email: , telephone: +255 714 660550, or fax: +255 22 2118253.

I hope that your participation can be conveniently scheduled and we look forward to meeting you on 19 July 2013.

Thank you.
