London Youth

London Youth is a vibrant network of more than 400 community organisations serving young people and their families in every London borough. We’re here to support and challenge young people to become the best they can be.

Build-It

Build-It is a brand new, Big Lottery funded project from London Youth which involves professional tradespeople volunteering to help young people refurbishing empty properties, which will then be brought back into use. This will create a platform for learning, giving young people the skills and confidence to gain further training, apprenticeships or jobs, whilst also promoting greater understanding and respect between generations.

The partners include Lambeth College, Community Trust Housing, Lambeth Council and the Co-Sponsorship Agency.

Recruitment Officer (young people)

£26,500 + pension

Based in London

This is an outstanding opportunity to be apart of a truly innovative project. The Recruitment Officer will need to build the profile of the project in Lambeth and cultivate relationships with local agencies and referrers working with young people. Working closely with the Outreach Manager, the Recruitment Officer will ensure 1500 young people take part in the project.

The post holder will need to quickly establish links with a variety of agencies within the youth sector to secure a good level of referrals.

Build-it is a fast-moving and challenging project and will require passion and determination. A ‘people powered change’ and ‘big society’ attitude and ethos will be crucial to its success – and the Recruitment Officer must embody and approach the role in that spirit.
