Dear <ParSalutation1>
Camp is only 6 months away and we are pleased to say we have found a place for every child who wanted to attend camp with additional flights and accommodation now secured. This represents 84% of Year 6 students attending camp this year.
Sausage Sizzle: Our next major milestone for camp will be our sausage sizzle to be held at Mandurah Masters on Sunday 26th June from 9.30am – 4pm. It is imperative for us to have strong parent volunteer support for us to raise additional funds for our Canberra Camp. These additional funds go towards such things as subsiding travel, Canberra clothing and providing competition prizes and special treats. Please indicate on the attached slip your availability to assist.
Our next major milestone will be a parent briefing to be held in October with a date to be confirmed in future correspondence.
Parent Volunteers: Thank you to all the parents who offered to volunteer on camp as a supervisor. This year we have students attending camp with high care medical conditions and a variety of needs and requirements and have taken this into account with the selection of parents to assist. These parents have skills and qualifications in emergency care, high level first aid training and experience and knowledge with children in group situations.
We are pleased to inform you the parent volunteers this year are Luke Mitchinson and
Clair McKeown. Both parents have a current Working with Children Check card. They will be included in briefing and planning discussions and you will have the opportunity to meet them before the camp.
Canberra Jacket: Due to the timing of this year’s camp we have decided not to order the traditional fleecy style hooded jackets, as with warmer weather at this time of the year expected it is anticipated students would get very little wear out of it. We are keen to provide a product students can continue to wear once they have left primary school.
This year we would like to offer either a long sleeved shirt or a light weight spray jacket. Please indicate on the attached slip your preference and we will consider what is best suitable to most people and go with the majority vote.
