Dear School/Business/Government Official:

WBAP News/Talk 820 has changed our procedure for getting your bad weather closing/delayed opening information to WBAP this year. We have developed a significant upgrade in our system that will enable you to get your information to the public much easier than in the past.

We are shifting to an Internet based system, in which you (or your designee) can enter the information at your convenience regarding your closing.

Here’s how to get started:

1.  Go to www.abctexas.com/wbapclosings . You will be taken to a secure website, identified as “WBAP Closings Admin”. On this first visit to the site, click on the “To Register, click here” link midway down the page.

2.  You will then see a series of boxes in which you enter your organization’s information, including a drop-down box in which you place your organization in the proper category (Schools, Businesses, etc).

3.  On this registration page you will be asked to create your own Username and Password. You will want to keep this information in a secure location, as it is only through the use of this Username and Password that you will be able to list your closing/delayed opening information.

4.  Once you have finished filling out the form, click the “Submit” button. Your entry will be reviewed by WBAP. Once we have approved it (and notified you via e-mail that the entry is approved), you are all set to begin using the system.

When we have bad weather events, you’ll simply go back to www.abctexas.com/wbapclosings to log back into the “WBAP Closings Admin” page. (We suggest you bookmark this Internet address.) You will enter the Username and Password you created, and then just click on “Add New Listing” at the top of the page. Follow the simple on-screen instructions to list your closing or delayed opening. It’s that easy!

Please do not instruct your employees or students to call us asking for your organization’s status. The full list will always be posted at www.WBAP.com, and major closings will be announced on-air. We will not give this information over the phone.

We appreciate you allowing WBAP to be part of your communication plan. It is our pleasure to be of service.

Sincerely,

Rick Hadley
