Position Summary:

Under the general supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Infectious Diseases pharmacist will work with other clinicians to ensure that exemplary interdisciplinary patient care is provided.

Specific responsibilities include:

·  Formalizing Antimicrobial Stewardship Program and improving upon existing practices

·  Providing ongoing education and serving as a clinical resource to pharmacists and medical staff

·  Rounding with Infectious Diseases consult service

·  Participating in Infection Control and P&T committees

·  Developing and evaluating protocols/pathways, conducting MUEs, participating in pharmacy-based research, assisting in maintaining anti-infective formulary

·  Precepting students and medical residents

·  Contributing to the total body of knowledge in pharmacy practice through publications in professional journals &/or presentations at professional meetings

Requirements:

·  Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy

·  Completion of a PGY1 ASHP Accredited Residency

·  Completed PGY2 Residency/Fellowship in Infectious Diseases OR at least two years of acute hospital experience in infectious diseases or management of an antimicrobial stewardship program

·  Pharmacist licensure in the state of Texas
