A NOTE FROM OUR PRESIDENT

By Beverley Walters

Mark your calendars for March 15 & 16 and join us at the FCJ Centre for our

2014 Professional Development Conference titled Emerging Directions –

Inquire, Inspire, Ignite.

The excitement builds as we complete final preparations for the conference. We look forward to presenting Emerging Topics that will address your questions about cultural diversity. We will inspire you with a hands-on experience building a vision board and we will ignite your enthusiasm as we weave Life Skills and Essential Skills together.

Inquire:

Our Inquire topic will be delivered by Debbie Mohamed and Victoria Lenon and is called ‘Cultural Literacy’. This Saturday full-day workshop will be highly engaging and I know you will thoroughly enjoy the experience and come away with new knowledge and a greater understanding of cultural diversity.

Inspire:

On Sunday morning, we welcome Jeannie Lutz and the Inspire topic called ‘Vision Boards’. This interactive workshop will have you preparing your own vision boards (materials provided) and Jeannie will take us through the many versions and adaptations that this skill and know how will open for us.

Ignite:

Sunday afternoon’s session is in response to a request to distinguish between Life Skills and Essential Skills. I look forward to providing a resource for you to use as you are called upon to provide sessions in Essential Skills, while providing Life Skills basics. I hope to Ignite your enthusiasm with this information.

As always, we are providing a continental breakfast each day, morning and afternoon coffee breaks and a wonderful lunch each day as part of your
