Classroom Monster Exchange:

This week you will be participating in a classroom monster exchange. You will exchange a monster that you have created with a person in a the classroom through expository writing alone. Your partner will try to recreate your monster from your writing. See example below.

Monster Exchange Example

It is time to begin if your not too scared.

  • Use creativity and imagination when creating and drawing your monster.
  • Write a monster description that uses descriptive language that clarifies and enhances your ideas about the monster.
  • Be clear and concise.
  • When you receive the other author’s writing create a monster drawing based on the expository writing of that author.

Part 1:Draw a picture of a unique monster using your creativity.

Part 2: Type your monster’s name and very detailed description of what your monster looks like. Save in your laptop under monster in your writing folder. Refer to the example above.

Along with this you will get to email your directions to the other student in your very brand new very own email accounts!!!!!!

Part 3: set up your email account

  • Log onto the computer and use the Internet to go to gaggle.net from my wiki page under Language Arts.
  • Log onto your new email account using the same login for your laptop. Your password right now for gaggle is hodag.
  • You will be prompted to change your password. You are required to make your password the same as your computer login.

When you are ready to send your monster writing go to compose

In the “to” section write your partners address.

Write monster exchange in your subject section

Go to the part where you write your message and compose a very brief message. Messages should always be short and to the point. For example, please find my monster writing attached.

Remember everything you write we see.

Your laptop is now atattletale. Anything it feels you write that is inappropriate it will send me an instant message!! You will lose your computer privileges for1 week.

Part 4: Send your writing in an email as an attachment.

Click on the attach button where the paper clip is located at the top of the screen.

A pop-up window will appear displaying files available on your computer.

Locate and double click on the file, or click it to highlight and then click the Open button to start the upload. You will see a progress bar as it uploads. The name of the file will then be displayed with a paperclip icon and a link to remove the attachment.
