2015-2016 AP Biology Application

AP Biology is a rigorous, year-long college level course. Students and parents/guardians should be aware of the course’s expectations and requirements prior to enrolling in the course. Due to the difficulty of the class and the amount of material that must be covered, students will be offered and required to attend before or school tutoring sessions and outside of school review sessions. Students will be responsible for paying the cost for taking of the AP Exam. After completing the course in May, students will take the AP exam.

This is a very academically demanding course that strives to adequately prepare students for future college courses. This course will require dedication and many hours of outside class studying and work. Receiving a passing score in this course does not guarantee a passing score on the AP Exam, college credit, or a passing grade at the collegiate level. Once a student has made the commitment to enroll in AP Biology, they will not be allowed to withdraw from the course. In order to receive the weighted points for GPA calculations, the student will have to take the AP College Board Biology Exam.

Despite the difficulty of the course, the students will reap many benefits including preparation for college level studying, college style instruction, college level laboratory experiences, and a greater in-depth understanding of biology themes.

Pre-Requisites: Students must have taken Biology and Chemistry.
