Job Title: / Night Porter – Young Persons Service
Scale & Family: / CCG Scale 1 plus enhancement for night working
Reporting To: / Project Manager
Job Purpose: / To provide a night porter service ensuring the safety and security of the building and its residents

Responsibilities / Key Components / Approx% of Time
Site Management /
  • Operate security surveillance equipment and report any faults.
  • Book residents and visitors in and out of the building and log all relevant information.
  • Conduct regular security checks including fire alarm, emergency lighting and fire extinguishers and report any concerns.
  • Log and report any repairs observed on duty or reported by residents.
  • Log all complaints, accidents, potential risks, and incidents of anti-social behaviour in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the Smart team and Duty Manager are aware of any incidents that occur in line with procedures.
  • Undertake ongoing training and development as agreed with the Project Manager.
  • Work within an agreed rota so that the appropriate staffing cover is maintained.
  • Keep a day-to-day log of events and happenings when on duty and ensure effective handover of information to relevant staff.
  • To attend and manage any emergency situations relating to the building, residents, NCHA staff or visitors.
